On average, are most 6-year olds 40 inches or taller??

We are short folks - my DS has health issues but at 6 was certainly over 40", my DD(4) is currently 43" (she has grown 2" in three months).

My DD is 6.5. She is definitely the smallest in her first grade class and is smaller than some of the kindergarten students. She was just over 41" by her 6th birthday. So I am pretty sure you will be fine.

My DD has always been at the bottom of the percentile charts, around 10th-15th percentile for her height. She hit 40" at 5 years old. :thumbsup2

She is 7 1/2 now and 46" tall. She has been waiting to ride RnRC for what seems like a really long time, LOL. Next year she should finally be tall enough. :)

my 6 year old dd is ridiculously small. Off the charts and always has been the smallest in her class. We get the was she a preemie question all the time ( I am only 5 foot even) and even she is over 40 inches (about 42 I think) My other dd who is 4 is right at 40 so I wouldnt be worried about height.

Maybe , Maybe not...My daughter celebrated her 6th bday on our last trip and was BARELY at that mark

I would think most 6 y/o's will be over 40". My dd turned 6 a week after our trip and was just able to ride the 48" rides (and loved them all especially Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Space Mountain and Expedition Everest).

When my daughter was 5, she was 46". She's now 7 and is now 52". Though she is tall for her age, I would still think that most kids at the age of 6 would be 40".

My son is 6 and JUST hit 40". He's in the negative 5th percentile, though. A short little guy. I'm 5 feet tall on a good day, so it doesn't surprise me. All of his friends are a good bit taller than him and always have been. I think unless she's abnormally small like my DS, she'll be fine. I think the chances of her being under 40" are pretty slim. In fact, from what I see of my DS's friends, I bet she's at least 45", if not taller.
