On a budget to save for WDW....anyone grocery shop at Aldi's???

I started trying to hit Aldi's not long ago. We livedin places there was no Aldi's for a long time. Ours doesn't seem to be as big and carry as many items (flowers, more varieties of salad veggie mixes) as yours do.

The produce is SOOO cheap there!!! It's also right across from our regular grocery store, and I HATE waiting in Wal-Mart's lines. The stoplight packages of peppers are $4 at my grocery store and somewhere around $1.70 at Aldi's!!!

True you have to check over your produce there, but I find you have to do that at otehr stores as well (Wal-Mart).

I bought salmon and talapia frozen filets there the other day. The salmon were good, just need to try the other now.

I ALWAYS forget my bags tho!!!

No one's mentioned this, we buy our canned cat and dog food, and sometimes, dog biscuits there, too. The dog food is a "generic" brand (smells horrible but my DH's hunting dogs don't seem to care!), but the cat food is a brand name (the yellow one, I'm drawing a blank, duh), and it's cheaper than the same brand at WM. Plus my DS, who is CONSTANTLY losing his swim goggles, gets el cheapo ones there, a pack of two for under two bucks.

So glad you liked it!!! It's true, a little $$ goes a long way at Aldi.

I love Aldi's also. Don't care for the canned vegies, but have had awesome luck with the fresh produce. Have lucked out twice and gotten #50 of banana's for under $1 because they had a new pallet coming in. These banana's were still a little green, but they had to make room. Their animal crackers taste like the cookies from McDonalds. I never seen egg prices any cheaper than there.

Well, I went to Aldi's again yesterday and I have to say that Monday evening about half an hour before close is NOT the time to go! Produce was awful! Only got salad and grapes though I had intended to get cantalope, lettuce, strawberries and bananas. Their hours are not good either. None of them by us are open on Sundays which is unfortunate. I also noticed that some of the prices have gone up since beg of August when I was there last. For instance, yogurt (which is awesome btw) was 29c each and is now up to 33c. Still a deal especially for how good it is! In August when I went, we brought $60 with us and I had to stop the checker just before the end. Yesterday, I ended up with $54 worth of food and it was a TON of stuff! We had gone to Costco on Sat and spent $57 and let me tell you, I got a lot more food at Aldi. Sadly though, the nearest one is about 14 miles away.
