I just booked this through Priceline, and just wanted to know if anyone has any experiences with this place. Now that I've booked it, it seems kind of far away from Disney and out in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully some of you can reassure me. Anyone have good or bad experiences with this place?

It is agood resort, the pool is great. Now the food is pricey there though. Its not that far out its no differnet if you were to stay on I drive. Its a 10 min drive to 192 for food. But there is a publix there with a mickeyD's close too.

Oh, thanks for the reply, I feel better now. I'll have a car, so I don't know why I'm concerned.

We stayed in a villa near Champions Gate. We really liked that area. I-4 makes getting to things easy, you will jump on at exit 58 and get off between exits 62 and 64 for most things Disney. We used Lake Wilson Road to get to 192 so we could get to Golden Corral for dinner. If you are looking to go to Wal Mart, take Ronald Regan Parkway west and then 27 north. It takes 10 minutes. If you take 27 south, you will get to a Target and JC Penney, that is also 10 minutes away.
While this map doesn't show your resort, it does show the roads I was referring to. If you zoom in on Windwood Bay, you will see Champions gate.

We have stayed at villas in this area at least 4 times and at the Omni as well (not since 2005 though).

The pools are great at the Omni.

It was fast to get to WDW using the OLd Lake Wilson road and the Sherberth entrance to WDW.

There is a great Publix right there at Champions Gate.

We used I4 sometimes too, many times, and it worked as well.

It is about 10 miles to the parks down I-4 from the Omni. You are out in the country. It is a beautiful area.

We won this hotel with Priceline.

It is a very large hotel with very nice grounds, nice ambiance, very relaxing (only there for 1 night).

Great place to get some exercise and stroll around. Wouldn't mind winning it again. :thumbsup2

I used to live near the Omni on Ronald Reagan pkwy, and I have to say I think that is a great area. I wish I still lived there, and when I move back I will be looking there. I would take I4 to get to Disney because its so easy. Like a previous poster said you are off exit 58, and the first Disney exit (62) is 4 miles away and you are basically on Disney property. I think you only have to deal with one red light once you get off exit 62. Its easy.

Where the Publix is there is also I Subway,McDonalds, and a Pizza place, but I didnt care for that place. Also there is a Chilis very close to that shopping center.

We stayed at the Omni in 2007 for 6 or 7 nights and LOVED IT. It's a really nice hotel, really high quality, probably one of the best in the Orlando area. (The Unofficial Guide names it #1 in overall room quality.) We had a great view of the pool and golf course grounds in the distance.

As other people have said, the food in the hotel is expensive (we had the breakfast buffet included in our rate from Continental, but otherwise it was $18 pp two years ago. VERY good food, but that's a high price for off-site.) There was also a starbucks in the hotel. The places for dinner were pricey, we didn't eat in any of them.

We also didn't like the pizza place nearby. It was "ok", but not great. Wouldn't really recommend. Chili's is Chili's. If you like Chili's, it's super-close. If you have a car, it might be worth looking up other places you can drive to ahead of time.

We would've stayed at the Omni again this year if not for the 4/3 offer.

Wow, you guys have all made me feel much better! Thanks!!

I was wondering how you were able to get the omni? I would try priceline but I have no idea what to key in to get it, would you mind sharing what you put in? Thank you!

Sure, no problem. I checked off "Resorts" and I checked only Area 1, titled, "Disney World Vicinity." I first looked at the resorts that Priceline has in the area, and I would have stayed at any of them. I think there are six or so. In case you're wondering what I paid, I ended up with $102 per night. I think others have gotten it for less, but it's still less than half of what I would have paid had I booked it outright, so I'm happy.

I was actually hoping for the Hilton in Downtown Disney, but now that I really look at the Omni, I think it might be a nicer hotel. It's just not as close as the Hilton.

Good luck!
