OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

I am wrapping the boxes so the kids think they are getting more than they actually are.
Plus making my husband figure out how it all goes to together while the kids are waiting impatiently is a little extra gift for me.

The zhu zhu stuff and the WII system I picked up from Walmart this morning is the only Santa gifts my younger kids are getting. Stockings will have a few dollar store items, a couple matchbox cars for youngest DS and DD wants fingernail polish.

We do exchange small gifts with each other (under $25) so that gives them another 4 gifts each there. Plus a gift from each grandma and one from an aunt.

So can anyone report on actually playing with them? What do they do, how much noise, are they fun? I found some for my kids but wondering if it's worth giving them each one or if one is plenty and send the other to my nephew.

So i have to post about my finds..i FINALLY got Zhu Zhu's!!!! I got a starter set with patches, num nums, chunk, wheel and tunnels set, and spiral slide and ramp set...I called Shopko as soon as they opened this morning even though yesterday i was told they probably wouldn't be getting them in on their truck last night..I got there about a half hour later, we live that far from the store, and they had a sign saying limit one item per customer..I was like huh? the other day it said quantity was 6 per customer..just meant you weren't allowed more than one of each specific item..well even though that's what they had posted I still asked the girl behind the service desk if they were ANY WAY i could get ONE more hamster, since I have 2 kids and just drove a half hour to get there..so she left me have it..i could gotten pipsqueak but i figured any of them would do lol...so add that to the fun house we have and we're basically set..If i find Pipsqueak by Christmas great, if not we have more than enough for my kids to get started...I just dropped a $100 on these items today so the rest can wait as we all know this fad will not be dying anytime soon..but let me tell you the adrenaline rush on the way to the store WOW..I LOVE it lol

I also wonder if the hamsters interact with each other.

My etoys order looks like each items comes in a separate package- the fun house and the 4 hamsters each have an item number. I am not sure how the toysrus one will be packaged. If the toysrus one ever arrives I will keep it and add the separate hamsters from the etoys one.

Jilly has been released as well as the other 3 new hamsters Scoodles, Nugget, and Winkie. Fred Meyer stores recently air shipped a bunch in and their stores have had the new ones and many have already been able to purchase the new ones.

So hopefully the bigger retailers will be getting them soon.

We took them out of the boxes and tested them this weekend. It does take a little while to get everything assembled. They are cute! They run around but I didn't see our two interact with each other. They make strange noises like a mooing cow if I remember correctly. All of our hamsters and accessories worked just fine.

They are cute, but I wouldn't pay $40 on ebay for them. I still need a surfboard and a ball.

My DH is in line at CVS right now, not sure if they have them (they told me Friday they would not be getting any before Christmas) but since the ad had them he ran over. They open soon, I guess we will soon know...

Anyone see on the news that the hair is raising some questions about the chemicals in them? I figure we have a few weeks to hear more about that and can return them if the news comes out bad.

We were at CVS this morning at 6:45 with 3 other cars. It was a lovely 27 degrees in GEORGIA!

Yeah! Glad you got them! My CVS doesn't open until 9am. I went at 8 because I thought they would be open. There wasn't aline, so I went home. I don't need anything for me, but I'm keeping my eye out for two funhouses for friends.

Nope, no luck. Our store did not get any. Online the ad (typing in our zip code) says ZHU ZHU Pets Are Here! at the top of the page, but no luck.

OK, he's home. I showed him the online ad (again, typing in our zip code so you'd think it would be the right ad,) and he said from page one it is not the same ad they had in the store. I had thought about calling my grandparents in Michigan to see if they could stop on their way to church, should have, but now they would have to wait till after church and if their store did get anything, they would no doubt be gone by then.

I think I am done. A wheel is not worth the headache...

I had a lucky day

I got the whole kit at TRU this morning, there wasn't a line or anything, just a whole pallet of them sitting on the floor by the barbie stuff. That was at 7:20am and they opened at 7am! I bought the whole kit b/c I can't find the fun house ANYWHERE!!

I also went to two CVS and they only let 2 items per person, so I got a few things that other friends were looking for. Oddly, I was the only one at either location :dunno:

Just wanted to let everyone know Northwest Indiana doesnt have any Zhu Zhu pets today at CVS. I check Valparasiao, Michigan City and Laporte. Waiting for one more store to open at 10am. I'm hopeful but have my doubts. If anyone knows where there are stores in my area with the pets please let me know. Thanks Have a great day!

My mother-in-law was at CVS 45 minutes prior to opening this morning and scored 2 pets and some accessories. I'm so excited!

(They opened at 10 and they only received 8 pets, which were gone by 10:05 - this is in Louisville, KY)
