I just purchased DVC yesterday and was able to book a stay in Aug using the 150 pts they gave me for '05.I want to plan my next trip for Feb'07.Since I can book 11 mos out at my home resort I can book that now right? The earliest I could have booked would have been March 1st :confused3 Should I book something there now even though I want to try a different resort in Feb.and then try at the 7 mo window for a different resort? Is there a penalty for doing this? Sorry so many ??? I haven't received any info yet and really want to book as I am limited to a certain week for vacation>

Since March is spring break time, I would reserve now, and then change at the 7 month mark. That way, you will have a ressie, if you can't get in at the other resort at 7 months. There is no penalty as long as you have the points.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,

Thank you! One more? :earboy2: I know I want a studio in Feb.If DH comes with me I will rent 2 studios but I'm not sure if he'll come. Can i reserve 2 and cancel 1 later? What is the time frame for cancelling without penalty?

I'm puzzled -- you and your husband would need 2 studios? Or maybe you're confused about booking. The points are "per villa per night" -- per person per night.

While you can make your reservation for next February right now, we could more clearly walk you through the whole process if you share your Use Year.

Congratulations on your purchase! Before long this will all be old hat to you.

You can always cancel without penalty as long as you are canceling more than 31 days from the start of the reservation and as long as you are within your banking windows for that amount of points.

Just curious...Do your DH and you always stay in different rooms? Do you feel you need two beds? The OKW studios have two beds instead of a bed and sleep sofa like the other DVC resorts have.

Is at least one of the kids 18 or would you and hubby split up? If it were I, I'd likely reserve a 2 BR plus a studio and cancel the one I didn't need.

The key phrase in one of these posts was "if you have the points".

It is my understanding that you can only make a ressie if you have the points, and since you will be using your points for the 11 month ressie, you will have to cancel the 11month ressie before you can book the 7 month ressie. Maybe this will not cause a problem...but maybe it will, depending on what time you are going and where you are staying.

MS will do the cancel/book for you when you call at the 7 month window.

You can make a ressie as long as you have the points at the time of the trip, not at the time of booking.

Whatever you decide have a great vacation.
