I also clicked on "careers" and applied for a job! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Note that "the intranet" is coming in Sept 2007 - I can't wait.

Ugh....apparently, there's some kind of brouhaha now between NBC and iTunes, with the upshot being that (as of right now) NBC programming won't be available for purchase from iTunes. NOOOOOOO!!! I watch/listen to old Office episodes constantly when I'm working out!

Apple, NBC starting to resemble Dunder-Mifflin

Computer maker Apple Inc., stung by the announcement that NBC Universal would not renew its contract to sell content via the iTunes music store, has thrown a counterpunch.

Instead of waiting for the contract with NBC Universal to expire in December, Apple is pulling the media conglomerate’s shows and music from iTunes much earlier.

In a news release issued hours after NBC Universal’s announcement, Apple said it prefers not waiting until December because NBC’s new fall TV lineup would be airing by then, thus putting iTunes customers at a disadvantage by allowing them only a portion of the season available for download.

Apple’s short statement, released Friday, laid blame for the contract dispute at NBC Universal’s feet, saying the media company wanted to raise prices of its iTunes downloads from an average of $1.99 per episode to $4.99.

Apple believes this would reduce consumer interest in NBC’s downloads and subsequently diminish profits passed along to NBC Universal, instead of raising them.

“We are disappointed to see NBC leave iTunes because we would not agree to their dramatic price increase,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes, in the news release’s only cited comment. “We hope (NBC Universal) will change their minds and offer their TV shows to the tens of millions of iTunes customers.”

NBC shows were among iTunes’ most popular downloads, accounting for 30 percent of the store’s sales, Apple said.

Media analysts accuse both sides of being childish. NBC Universal is considered foolish for eschewing iTunes over a price point that would not bring the media company a profit and opening the door for rivals ABC, CBS and other networks to sell more shows.

Apple, meanwhile, is labeled as infantile for pulling NBC content early and costing NBC Universal millions of dollars it could have gleaned from iTunes sales between now and December.

Regardless, NBC Universal provided iTunes with a third of its most popular video downloads, whereas iTunes is behind only Wal-Mart and Best Buy in media sales nationally. Right now, it appears that Apple, basking in the glow coming from iTunes’ popularity, holds the better cards.

But the whole situation makes one wonder if maybe both companies are being managed by Michael Scott.

I just checked, and as of right now, The Office is still listed on iTunes as being available for d/l. I sincerely hope it stays that way.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4th Season 3 is released on DVD!!!!:cool1:

We've been counting down the days!:yay: I'm trying to decide whether to buy it at Target or Best Buy.

Target is selling an "Exclusive Deluxe Edition" that comes with an episode script, and a cast and crew question and answer session from the Museum of Radio and Television.

Best Buy is selling a "Welcome Aboard Kit" with nifty gifties. The DVD set comes with a Dundie Award and a Dwight Schrute mini bobblehead.

I'm leaning toward the Target set. Then again, the mini bobblehead might be kind of cute. But, I have a regular Dwight Schrute bobblehead already.

Decisions, decisions...

Oh, wow....now I don't know where I'm gonna get mine, either! When Season 2 came out, I ended up buying the box set from BB that contained both 1 & 2 (gave the extra Season 1 to my brother for Christmas) because it came with a bunch of extra stuff, like DM stationery, pen, magnetic Dwight Schrute business card (where he'd crossed out "to the" from his title of Assistant to the Regional Manager) :rotfl: and DM planner with Michael's notes written in it. I dig the idea of the extra video content, though....ah, decisions decisions.

Since Best buy near me is still being built...I guess Target is the way to go.

OMG, the deleted scenes from the Beach Games episode alone make this DVD set worth the money! :rotfl:

******Spoiler alert*******

Apparently, Jim is on Phyllis' "list" that she's agreed on with Bob Vance--it's George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jim, and "that British guy who got in trouble with the prostitute."

This episode had me in tears, I was laughing so hard. :thumbsup2

FTR, I bought the "Nifty Gifty" version from Target. I haven't had a chance yet to see all of the special bonus stuff because I had class tonight (don't think I wasn't tempted to skip, though! ;) ) but I'm loving it so far!

Oh that is awesome and just makes me want to watch the new season!!!

Michael on the phone trying to get technical help retracting his e-mail with Jan's picture: "Well, I am in America and I'm online, so I think it DOES involve you." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

So I've been catching up on back "Creed Thoughts" blogs and just had to share this one:

Creed Thoughts

I have this computer at home. A friend needed to get rid of it fast and he needed a vacuum, so I traded him. Anyway, I don’t even use it that much. Sometimes if I’m going to a coffee shop to look at women, I’ll bring it with me to look busy, but that’s about all.

The other day, I overheard some dudes at work and they were talking about some internet video of water buffaloes fighting lions. I don’t know about you, but that’s the kind of thing I can build a whole night around. I stopped at the supermarket on the way home and picked up some things to get me in the mood: Buffalo jerky, buffalo wings, Frosted Flakes, some cupcakes, and a bottle of white wine. (Side note: I couldn’t find any lion-related items at the store, so I settled for the Flakes because of the Tiger. It was the best I could do.) When I got home, I was really jazzed for a good old-fashioned jungle fight. I turned on my computer and boom – nothing happened. Just a weird clucking noise and a black screen, so I did what anybody would do. I punched my computer and then I called tech support.

Fellow Office fans....

Get thee to Target! In their $1.00 bin they are selling alot of cute stuff! I picked up magnets, mini-legal pads, small dry erase boards, pens, mechanical pencils, sticky notes and other neat stuff! They also had some stress balls and some of the "Worlds' Best Boss" coffee mugs!

I got some of that Target stuff too! They were running low at my Target, but I got some nifty mechanical pencils. I really want a Dwight stress ball.

Note to all Office fans: Have any of you been to officetally.com? It's a great Office fan website, with news, spoilers, etc.
