I was one of the lucky ones to get the e-mail postcard for this fall. I am stoked, and trying to figure out the $$ for a trip. Anyway, if we go my parents want to go with us. They have NEVER been to WDW and have never even called for info on rooms or anything. They have been to DLR, but never stayed in a DLR hotel (always offsite or with family). Today, my mom calls and tells me she got a POSTCARD!!!! It is the exact same as the one I recieved by e-mail!! $79.00 mods/ $49.00 values!!! The same exact dates are included and blacked out!!! I have been trying to figure out the method Disney uses to send out the postcards, but this one throws me for a loop!! They must be using outside mailing lists!!! That is the only way the got my parents names and address!!! So, now this adds another twist to the postcard mystery!!!:earseek:

my mom goes every few years, and we go every year recently. my grandma lived in an apartment at my mom's, with the street address being the same-but with the 1/2 to differentiate the places. yesterday, grandma got the post card and she died last september.

luckily, disney was understanding and let us apply it to our november reservations. grandma is still taking charge and looking for the almighty discount!!!

Hey -

I am wondering, do you need to get a post card to be able to apply the discount or is their some kind of pin code or something? If there is a pin code, couldn't people share that? Also, with these post cards, can you get a discount at a Deluxe Resort, or only the value and mods? Thanks in advance.

The postcards have pin # on them but you have to recieve a postcard to recieve the rate. You cannot book a room without one.

are the post cards still going out??? I feel SO left out!!!!

Unfortunately the PIN Code is non-transferrable. You have to book and check in under the name used on the postcard. The front desk will ask for ID.

To answer question above, yes, you can use the postcard to book a deluxe. I just booked a standard room at Poly, with the postcard PIN, for $209/night + tax, which is $90 off per night (30% discount).

Thanks for answering my post card questions. I'm just so bummed that I never got one. I have one more question though, if you book a room using a Pin number from a post card, do they ask you to show them the post card when you check in or just ID to prove you are the person that the reservation is listed under?
