OMG!! Remember the rude woman at my daughter's softball game?

I would have said....

"DON'T WORRY TIFFANY. THERE WILL BE A MIDDLE-AGED WOMAN IN THE CONCESSION STAND TO HELP YOU WITH THE RETAIL JOBS...MAKING CHANGE AND SUCH!"

Obviously, she's concerned because at her young age she doens't undertand the pressures of working retail!

:p :p :p :p :p

I hope you have a long season ahead of you.....these posts are great!

You should have asked her what then would be her monetary contribution, since she was too good to work.

Bet she has a lot of friends.

Some of you have asked what her daughter is like, but I don't really know MIRANDA ASHLEY  all that well. She definitely isn't in the "gifted" department when it comes to softball, but very few of the girls are. She does seem kind of quiet though, and never does the cheers with the other girls on the sidelines.

The million dollar question is, What is the husband like??? I've never seen him since he hasn't come to any games yet. I have overheard (accidentally of course) a few of her cell phone conversations with him. She talks to him like he's a child. I can't wait for the day he shows up so I can get a gander of what he's like.:teeth:

He's probably not allowed to come to the games (in case he gets dirty!).

I suspect his name is Matt....

You won't see Matt. He is too busy working so Tiffany can proudly throw away $60.00 worth of candy in front of other parents.

Good one..:rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Jeafl, when is your next game? I can't wait to hear about it...Maybe someone on this board can come up with something for you to say to her to elicit another "brilliant" remark!!::yes:: :wave2:

It sounds like our rookie girls league. In our softball leagues, parents who won't work concession are rewarded by the fact that their kids are not allowed on the all-star team. Of course that doesn't affect the rookie girls or boys as they don't have all-stars until "minor" leagues, but you can bet all those older parents are with the program. I don't know how it is working this year as DDs both stuck to soccer this year and DS isn't old enough yet for baseball.
On the other hand, the league takes pain to make sure that the team time is not during a team game. Sure that means you have to go to the fields on another day, but you are never missing your child's game.
Keep the stories coming, Tiffany sounds like a real treat.

This all reminds me why I am glad my kids no longer play little league.

Tiffany sounds like a real gem.

I love reading these stories about this horrible woman. It's almost like something you'd see on a sitcom. Just unbelievable.

I don't know how you hold your tongue, seriously. You must be chock full of patience and understanding.

:rotfl:

That is a riot.... but ARGH!!!!! Some people just don't get the game plan, eh? haha!

Er, um.... perhaps someone should spike her drink that she orders from the "retail" volunteers with sumpin'.... hehe...

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Breezy_Carol that was great!

Nice to "see" you around SSB!

I can hardly wait for the next game! I will probably crack up just looking at her and remembering all the things you guys have said.:hyper:

Just tell her that since she doesn't do "retail" that she will have to take the only other responsibility left - slopping the mud from the field - and hand her a shovel.

Hey, the look on her face will be priceless! :)

I remember the original thread. I remember it was, I believe, FIVE games before any of you approached her to invite her to sit with you? Yes, her response was rude, but so were the social skills of your group of ballgame mothers. Considering this fact, it is no wonder she has no desire to "volunteer" for the concession stand. I wouldn't.

Instead of making fun of this woman, do something nice for her. Invite her over for coffee, out to lunch, have her daughter over to play with your daughter, get to know her. At least then, if she continues to be rude, you can feel better about yourself knowing that you tried to take the high road.

And next time, instead of asking people to volunteer, automatically pick the times for them and send it to them in a calendar, stating that if it is not convenient for them to work the time assigned, they need to find their own replacement.

Lori

I must say that this thread has made me crack up!!
With that in mind maybe we should give poor old Tiffany a break as with her attitude I am sure that by the time her Little girl is 12 or 13 she will have her hands full!!! ( No really she really should maybe go get a job in Wholesale and see if that works for her!)

Oh yeah I bet that DH ( Better known as MATT) is probably too busy to come to the games ..... He is probably out working in RETAIL ....

My DS will graduate from HS in a few weeks and the best part of him leaving School is........... Not having to sit next to people like TIFFANY during games.

Now, THAT would be my DH. He never met a candy bar that he didn't like . . .

His response would be, "Why waste a whole box of perfectly good candy bars?"

You could just say: "Well, just sell a whole lot of stuff, and you can call it WHOLESALE!!"
