OMG. No one tells you that as your cat gets old, that you need to buy lots of super-duper airfresher. I swear we only use it because of her! Between her daily HEALTHY trips to the litter box and her recent development of stinky gas, a mask might be next. :rotfl:

We didn't change any food, so its got to be her.

I've got Friend' Phoebe's song "Smelly Cat" in my head.

Is that caused from getting old? That might explain the bombs my 13 year old cat leaves behind.:crazy2: The second she walks out of the litter box someone is there to scoop!
Poor kitties!

I've got some stinkers here too! Try the Body SHoppe oil burner with the mandarin/satsuma oil. It REALLY helps, the whole house smells of citrus, which is far better then cat stink.

I've had cats all my life and never remember any of them stinking when they got older.

My mom's old siamese stunk up the litter box on every trip though. That cat could clear a house.

:lmao:

 I guess she's letting you know she's still around. :snooty:

I assumed it was old age because she hasn't been like this her entire life. And yeah, I'm in there scooping, flushing & spraying the second she's done. I can smell it no matter where I am in the house. :rotfl:

My elder kitty doesn't stink (well, anymore than he ever did), so not sure....just get some air fresheners.

Just yesterday, I told my 18 1/2 year old cat, "Man, you smell like an old person." :rotfl2: God bless her furry little heart. She gets the best in vet care, so it's not as if she has some undiagnosed condition. We're probably out $1000 minimum every 2-3 months. :headache: A serious bout of constipation (and she was BORN constipated) can set us back $500 or more. :scared1: Her recent stroke was probably $1200-ish. (But she made a miracle recovery and you'd never know she'd been sick now.) And she sees the vet at least every 3 weeks for a shot. Yep.....the vet is pretty familiar with her.

She's old and furry and arthritic.....And she can't groom the way she used to. Plus, her poop stinks worse than ever. It just does. Maybe it's all the MiraLax, pills, high blood pressure meds, etc. she has to take. She's happy enough, just slow and somewhat smelly. She is still a gorgeous Maine Coon who looks half her age and would lie about it if she could talk. :rotfl:

She's 90+ in cat years. People who live that long usually get a bit stinky. It happens. I still love her.

:headache: A serious bout of constipation (and she was BORN constipated) can set us back $500 or more.

Can you give her a little pumpkin puree? (With your vet's approval, of course.) My vet recommended a small spoonful each day, as the only cat food my kitty can eat because of allergies, makes her a bit constipated. Pumpkin is very high in vitamin A and potasium, too.

Don't know anyone would want a pet that leaves #2 in their house....
Dogs rule!
