OMG, parents get WAY too caught up in kids sports

Hello! I've been going down nostalgia lane for the last few days as I'm terminally ill. I have well informed info this kiddo played rec, travel, high school baseball, all with a mom who was either helping in the dugout, helping coaching, or even on the board for his league, while when just being an observer said NOTHING because he asked his mom to please not be "that mom." He played through high school and was scouted by colleges, but he decided it was too much to do sports and academics both, and that was a very admirable decision from the kid whose life goal was to play MLB. He is majoring in Sports Business now, hoping to help run a team. Yes, I'm Aidensmom, though it's been over 10 years since I posted anything. I'm just enjoying the nostalgia, and I seriously miss some of the posters I got to know! Hope you are all doing fantastic!

Hi Beth!!! Every once I a while I look back at some of the old drinking/bar threads and wonder what everyone is up to. I still keep in touch with Sherry with occasional emails but haven’t seen others here in years. I’m so sorry to hear about your illness and my thoughts are with you. I can’t believe Aiden is in college!!! Sounds like he’s made some tough and smart decisions about his future. Good to see you here again!!

Hi Beth! Nice to hear from you and that Aidan is doing so well. I would like to hear about YOU. What happened to you and what have you been doing these last 14 years? So sorry to hear you are sick, but glad you are posting.

Me? I still work for the same company I did way back when, but now I'm doing websites, for the government, don't throw things at me, lol. I had a great laugh at looking at some of these old posts because now I know how to do what the tag fairy did. If ONLY I knew that back when! I actually am doing very well, still a Disney passholder. My new cat, he's like a year and a half old, Simba, is obsessed with destroying anything I have that is Minnie Mouse. And, yes, I'm sick but don't feel like it, my doctors are a bit amazed at that, I need an organ transplant and it was just discovered I have a tumor on my head (praying it is benign). I miss interacting with the people here.

Hard to imagine Aiden in college now. Time does fly like they say, doesn't it?

We had fun days back when here on the dis, didn't we? I enjoy looking at these older threads when they come back, so many good people over the years. I miss so many of them, good memories. Again, good to see you.
