Boy, talk about a LATE in the game Pre-trip report! We leave this weekend...wait...what? Yep, you read that right! THIS WEEKEND!!! Wow! Let's see, where do I begin? This will be our second time going to WDW the week of the Dec 7th. What is so special about Dec. 7th you ask? Well, yes, it IS Pearl Harbor day, but, it's also my sweet DH's birthday! Ohhhh...someone ELSE going to celebrate their birthday at Disney. Just what you wanted to read about, right? Well, before you decide to hit that back button (or go off looking for something more original to read about), just give me a chance to make this more interesting. Now, yes, I do think my hubby is the greatest guy in the world, and yes I AM very happy that he decided that he wanted to go to Disney to celebrate his very special day with the Big Cheese (::MickeyMo but you want to know why I'm extra excited? Why I think he's even extra great? Well, even if you don't I'm going to tell you. Not only are we going to celebrate his birthday week, but he has invited my niece and her DH (who is in the National Guard and being sent over seas in May) to join us for the first half of the trip! Now...wait a second you ask...that is why I'm so happy and excited? Just because my niece and her hubby are coming down too? Well, yes! And not only are they coming, but my sweet unselfish husband is paying for them to stay and eat! WOW! Paying for their room and food!!! For HIS birthday!? You've gotta admit that is pretty darn unselfish and something to get excited about!

Now, first of all, you should know that my niece and I are only 3 years apart. My sister is the oldest, and I am the youngest of my siblings, and there are several years difference in our age. My niece was the only child my sister ever had, so we grew up pretty much like sisters ourselves. We are very close, and even more so now that my mom passed away almost 4 years ago. My niece and I have grown up together playing barbies and loving EVERYTHING Disney ever since I can remember:cutie: : We used to sit in my room and listen to Disney park music even as kids, and talk about how, one day, we would go to Disney World together. Well , it took us 25 years to do it, but 2 years ago we finally got to go to Disney World TOGETHER! It was a very special trip for us. We both got married young, and neither of us has any kids (yet!), so we tend to act like two silly little girls when we (even talk) about Disney! Both our DH's put up with our silliness, and even still love us! Second thing that you should know is that for this trip we decided to try something different, and are renting DVC points from a DVC member. We are going to be staying at Old Key West for the first time. Lastly, we are all in South Carolina, so we like to drive, and make that part of the fun. Now, I should probably introduce you to our little clan:

First of all you have Me princess:, Monica, I'm 30 years old (even though most of the kids in the youth at church say I act like I'm 17 lol). I have a very unique job. I host Princess Tea (and other theme) Parties for children. I started my own party planning and hosting service about 4 years ago. I've worked with caterers and wedding planners, and after hosting several events for family and friends, I had a request for a little girl tea party birthday, which led me to do more...and it really became a popular idea. So, I am around little princesses just about every weekend! It's SO much fun! Even though it's a great deal of work to get everything just right, it brings a little bit of pixie dust to parents and children here in my home town. Which makes me feel like a fairy godmother!:lovestruc I am very blessed to be able to do something that makes me happy.

My loving DH :drive: Kevin, who will be celebrating his 33rd birthday next week! Kevin and his family own and operate a car dealership. He and his mom and brother run the entire lot. They do their own financing and are a buy here pay here dealership. It's fun because sometimes he gets to drive home some nice vehicles, with all sorts of "extras":thumbsup2 We are both very involved with the teenagers at our church, he helps our youth minister teach some, and we both have a small group of teens (he has 5 boys, I have 4 girls) called Discipleship groups that we lead once a week. With all that, it's not unusual for either him, or me, to come home to a house full of teenagers on any given day:scared1: Even though we don't have kids of our own yet, we buy enough groceries to make people think we do! :lmao:

Next there is my niece, Paige pirate: who just turned 27. I'm very close to her, especially since my mom passed away almost 4 years ago. She and I have grown up like sisters and as I mentioned before have LOVED Disney as long as we can remember. She is a 1st grade teacher:eek: in her second year of teaching. This is her year to be evaluated, and she has been VERY stressed out! When we first told them we wanted them to come with us, she wasn't sure if she would be able to go. Since this is her year to be evaluated by the district, she figured that she could not take any personal days off. She put in a request to her principle asking for 2 days to go out of town with family, and had to wait (for what seemed like forever!) to hear back from him. She was sure he'd deny her request. BUT HE SAID YES!!! So she got a sub for the 2 days she would be gone and turned in her forms! SHE CAN GO!!! Paige and I are some Disney World lovin gals! We drive our hubby's crazy in the car on the way :hyper: We cry when we hear the "Flying" song from Peter Pan that they used for the Year of a Million Dreams...We cry when we see the FIRST Disney World sign...We cry when we go under the arch that puts us on Disney property...we cry when we see the Castle for the first time...We cry as we walk up Main Street arm in arm...you get the picture

And finally, there is Paige's DH, Chuck :earboy2: He's my age (yep I have a nephew who's the same age as me). He is in the National Guard and will be joining us a day late because he has drill this weekend. He recently found out that the army is going to send him over seas in May. Paige is very upset about that. She told me she was going to come live with me, and I told her I will get her room ready.:flower3: Chuck loves Disney too. Even though you wouldn't think he did when you first meet him...he sure does! His absolute FAV is Spaceship Earth, which he hasn't gotten to ride since they re-did it. Now, we DID all 4 get to ride it 2 years ago when they were doing a soft opening. Chuck ended up riding it all by himself and getting stuck on it:sad2: Then they made everyone get off and he hasn't been able to ride it since. That's what he can't wait to do, and we can't wait for him to get to!

So, there you have our little party. Did I mention that we have all been together once before (well Paige and I went for Spring Break this past April too:cutie:). The 4 of us went 2 years ago at this EXACT same time of year. Kevin's bday falls at a conveniently festive time of year, and usually the crowds are down (at least they were 2 years ago!), and they weather is nice (once again it was 2 years ago). That trip was the very first time Paige and I got to be at WDW together. It was extra special:goodvibes That trip we took a little tree and a few decorations, and hung stockings up and all. We've decided to do that again, and even take lights to put out on the balcony at OKW. Kevin and I will be there the entire week (5th-12th) and Paige and Chuck will be leaving late on the 8th, so why not make our little space as Christmas-y as possible?:santa: As I type, my hubby has gotten our decorations all together nicely in one box (and maybe one bag), so that we can put them up when we get there;) Oh, also did I mention that it's just going to be Kevin, Paige, and myself driving down to start with? Chuck has drill this weekend, so he will be driving down as soon as he can get out! He'll probably be getting in late Sunday night. Yep, my sweet hubby will have to put up with the two of us Disney lovin girls all by his lonesome for a couple days! We're actually leaving Friday night as soon as Kevin gets off of work, and driving to Kingsland, GA, which is right outside of Jacksonville. Chuck has offered to pay for the hotel room so that we can get to Disney a little earlier on Sat, rather than having to get up at 2 am to drive down. Alright, so now you know who we are, and a little about us. Are you still there? Did you get board and decide to go off looking for food porn pics? Well, if you're still with me, I hope you'll enjoy following us on our Disney/Christmas/Birthday/Family Time/Fun trip! Thanks for reading and look for more to come!:wave2:
