We are so excited!!!! We have stayed at the RPR for the past three years and decided (great rate of $175.00) to stay at the Hard Rock!!!

What are the standard garden view rooms like? Is the a certain sections like the RPR I could request to be closer to the main lobby???? What about pet rooms is the a certain building to avoid (I'm allergic)

Anything else you can tell me food, drink fun I'm all ears!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

You are going to LOVE IT!!! We stayed at RPR our first trip to Universal. We have been 2 times since and both times stayed at HRH. We love how close to the gate the walk is. We also save money by eating a HUGE breakfast every morning at HRH at The Kitchen and then only having a snack during the day and then an early dinner to beat all the crowds at CityWalk. The food in The Kitchen is really good...you won't be disappointed! When you arrive...ask for an upgrade on your room. We always book a standard room and both times asked for a pool view room upgrade and they gave it to us! Here are some of my photos from our visits there:

Wow!! Thanks for the pictures and advice!!! Is is worth is tho purchase the All Access pass??? For $24.00 we can get a late checkout and possible room upgrade. What do you think?

when you say ask for an upgrade, and you got it, did you get it for free, or did it cost you extra?
I've booked a standard queen for the four of us for one night in August (2 adults, a 16 year old son and a 12 year old daughter) so it'd be good if we could get a reasonably priced upgrade for a bit more room!

that's a good rate! The lowest I've found so far for our 4 night stay is 215.00 a night for HRH.

I haven't stayed there before so I'm really looking forward to it. I figure I'll be requesting a higher floor for sure but I'm not sure if I am going to request anything else yet. I've got to read the HRH thread first.

i've stayed over 22 times at the HRH.
starting last year, i switched to the RPH.

The lower floors are the only pet rooms.
floor 1 & 2 can have pets in the rooms.
not sure if the lobby floor, 3, is a pet floor.

the HRH is spread out with many halls.
if you want to be near an elevator, do ask for a room closest to it when you check in.
also let the TM be aware you can not be on a pet floor due to allergies.

the standard garden rooms are the same as the standard pool view rooms.
the only difference is the view from your window and the higher cost for the pool view.

allows book the standard garden view and when you check in, you can ask if you will be allowed a free upgrade to a pool view.
many times if rooms are available, they work with you on that. :goodvibes

that is the most common type of upgrade at hrh.

RPH has 3 buildings, HRH is the smallest hotel on site and is only one building.

Thanks for the the info Macraven!!! We can't wait for our stay and another trip to the DARKSIDE!!!!

Can I ask how you got such a great rate? Is it AAA?

It all depends on when you are staying and for how long. We have a rate of $165 from August 21-28th.

Thank you. Do you know historically what late February brings for rates. We are very early in that we are going February 18-20, 2011. I am just trying to get an idea of what to expect. We have two families going (3 kids total - 13, 12 and 10) and are looking forward to staying onsite.

I just wanted to add that when I called Universal Vacations that the

Royal Pacific rate was $249.00

Hard Rock was $170.00

Portifino was $182.00

The agent stated that she never saw that before and suggested I put a deposit down to lock in the rate for the HRH.

I wonder why the Royal Pacific was so much more expensive??? :confused3

If you do a search for the Date and rate threads you can get a general idea of what has been offered in the past. The longer you stay the better rate you get too.

Thank you. I will do that. We are limited on time. We are going down on Friday and leaving on our cruise on Sunday. We wanted to get some time at the parks in before the cruise. Thanks again.

I think it was Universal's way of saying try something new!!! We are really excited to stay at the HRH. I was thinking of purchasing the all access pass. Is it a benefit?
