Going 4th – 8th November staying at the Santa Fe via the Eurostar (Trying to be a budget trip)
Summary
We originally booked this as the 40% offer was on and we liked the idea of going for bonfire / fireworks. We have now realised we will be there for the first day of Christmas Woo Hoo!
I am now a shareholder so we will be having our 2nd breakfast every day at Salon Mickey.
I have brought some costumes from Ebay and the charity shop for the Kids, Sully, Belle, Woody, Jessie, Snow white and Buzz. (Cost less the one outfit if I would have brought them new)
This is still a surprise trip on the night before we are going to come home and there will be the invitation on the door mat (got some great 3d princess / castle stickers from Poundland) Got a Disney Princess Suitcase (from the very glitch) and going to tie a Mickey Helium balloon on (£2.49 from the card factory). Inside will be the Buzz and Snow white outfits plus a Mike from monsters plush (20p from a car boot) and a Minnie purse/ bag (50p from a car boot) Plus some drawing pads and 2 great Disney cars pens (49p from QD) with a TV on you press a button and the cars spin round and each time you get a different car on the TV. We plan a surprise every other day when the kids wake up in the morning a new outfit will be hanging up as by magic.
The Plan
Tues
DH and the kids will be going to work, school and Pre School so I can do some last minute packing and make the packed lunch to eat on the Eurostar.
We are going to have dinner early get the kids in their nightclothes so we can carry them straight to bed and drive to Ashford. Staying in the Ashford Travelodge (£9 sale)
Wed
We take our own cereals and milk and have breakfast in our room. Check in at Eurostar 8:30 – 9:00 Parking on level 5 for the walk way. Kids can play in the play area if we are early. Packed lunch on the Eurostar before we arrive this will save us some time. Straight to the Sante Fe to check in and to book our breakfast slots for the week. Hoping to get a GMF breakfast. Going straight to Main Park to get that first look at the castle. Want to do Casey and Story book as they are going to be closed for refurb. Also to do IASW and get a FP for Buzz see parade etc. We have an ADR for Café Mickey at 7pm, then plan to watch fireworks / bonfire and straight to bed.
Thu
Main Park again plan to do as many rides as possible plus the parade and the princess and Toy story meet and greats. We have the Tea Party booked for 5pm at the Lucky Nugget Saloon. After park closes will grab a take out McD’s for our room and check out the Village. Will have another early night as we seem to be knacked around 8ish.
Fri
Studios today. Must do TOT as this will be 3rd time lucky for us. In Nov 2007 it was not quite ready and in WDW June 1994 it was again not quite ready hoping it will be worth the wait. Stars and Cars DS can where his Sully Suit hopefully he might get some interaction (he would so love that). Studios close at 6pm so will pop in the main park for the last hour. We have an ADR for Café Mickey at 7pm, then plan to watch fireworks / bonfire and straight to bed.
Sat
Main park today here for EMH at 8:00 expecting it to be mega busy so will do as many rides as we can in the morning till it gets to busy then off to Salon Mickey for a break. Then going to explore the castle and see the dragon, explore adventure land and going to make us of FP in both parks. Also going to watch parade meet and greats etc. DD and I have an ADR for the princess meal at 12:30. DH and DS may go back to the hotel for a sleep for a couple of hours as I am sure DS will be tried. If the parks gets to busy this afternoon / evening may just have wonder round the village and the other hotels. May go to see the Characters Dance in the DLH at 4pm. T/o MCD’s or may use my shareholders discount at the Santa Fe Buffet.
Sun
First Day of Christmas Woo Hoo!!! Using Disney Express for return (10E book via the hotel) so we can enjoy a bit longer in the park. At park for 8am to do as many rides as possible. Plan is to do all the Christmas stuff today. Really want to see Santa and post our letters, the Snow white and Belle meet and greats, Christmas Parade and Mickey’s Magical Wonderland. In fact we really want to see all of it!
We plan to leave the park around 6:30ish and grab a McD’s to eat on the Eurostar. We are hoping to see the tree lighting ceremony before we go, but are resigned we are going to miss Fantiluision. O well that gets us an excuse to go again next year.
