OMG! Is this the 1st time in years that it's been this hot in Oct at Disney?

I have already seen this in some previous posts, but I gotta agree this past week was unbearably hot!! We have been in July & August before and swore we would never go when it was that hot again, so we booked in October. Well, needless to say, with the heat index it felt over 100 degrees. You were soaked within minutes. I know it is always warmer in Florida than most of the Southeast, but never dreamed the heat would be a big issue this time of year. We missed seeing half of the things we planned to as everyone was just like "forget it", let's just go back to the room. I know this was a record breaking week for temps and believe me, it was really miserable. That being said, it was Disney, so it was still alot of fun. I would love it no matter if it were snowing or raining. Luckily the rain did hold out, but then again, it may have cooled things off.

This is definitely not normal weather for this time of year!

The year after the big hurricane... 2004, or 2005, we were there starting in the first week of October.. It was 98 - 105 EVERY DAY for 9 days... I was never so glad to have rented a house with a pool.

we had not been in 5 years, so we were really looking forward to this one. You might know we picked the week that was NOT normal!!

October has been pretty hot the past few years. Not 100 like this past week but high 80's low 90's and really humid. I can't even light the oven for Thanksgiving or Christmas most years. It cools off in January now.

Just returned from a great 10 day trip - the only downside....the weather! 90-95 degrees each day with the heat index over 100! MNSSHP was a humid bath....at midnight on my way out of the party, my shirt was soaked from heat and humidity.

I don't think I would ever do October again.

I came home to snow in my backyard.

We were at WDW last Nov. 7-17.
It was 85 almost everyday.
A few nites got cool, but just a small sweatshirt was needed.
On our last day, the temperature was 72, and felt cold, to this northerner.

Sorry McDISer

I have lived in Florida all of my 46 years, and while it may not have been this hot in the past, it is still hot at this time of the year. there maybe a rare cold snap, but usually it is at least halloween before it starts cooling off. they say we did break a record where I live, but not by much. so I really don't think we are that much out of the norm. And while I say all this, it doesn't mean that I like it. lol I WANT SOME OLD WEATHER>

Sorry McDISER< didn't mean to quote you, I was responding to the PP saying that this wasn't normal

oct weather.

They can tell it's not normal October weather all they want.

I was there on the 3 week of October 3 years ago and it was in the high 90's every day.

As far as December goes that say it can get cold for a day or too. 5 years ago was there on the 3rd week of December for 8 days. Wore my leather coat, gloves and boots every day, at night put on a heavy winter coat over my leather. For the whole 8 days I was chilled to the bone every day, and I from Massachusetts.

You never know what you'll get for Florida weather so be prepared for the extremes. I always check the extended forecast for the week I'm going. When it's hot it's a humid heat, when it's cold and windy it's a damp cold that goes right to your bones.

I am glad I came across this. DH and I were just talking bout WDW next October but we despise the heat and humidity and would be totally miserable. Thanks for posting this

we went in late Oct in 2007 and it was uper 80s / low 90s and very humid most of the week we were there. It was unusually hot then too....

At least it's been a mild hurricane season, although a few tropical storms would've been nice for the rain, it's been dry down here. I like the heat, it's giving us more swimming time. :)

We were there Sep 26 to Oct 3rd and it was really hot for us too. some days were near 100...the humidity went down for the last couple days but I will not go at this time of year again.
(of course I said that 6 yrs ago, but it took 6yrs to try it again);)

We would go to dinner at Epcot and by the time we got from the front to the back we were all completely soaked in sweat...just dripping...and having mini heat strokes.....as girls...the sweat thing was just gross:rolleyes1

anyway...I am right there with you....our next trip is in APRIL !!!!

I'm glad to know it's not normal...hopefully it cools down SOON!

It's turning into the never ending summer here in Florida!

I wish with all my heart we could have a decent summer here. We seem to go from winter to winter here. Skipping warm seasons. Forget hot ones. :headache:don't exist any more.

This makes me nervous. We're thinking of going next October. I really dislike humid weather. That's why I pretty much won't go to WDW in the summer. I've gone in late October and it was fine, but now I'm second-guessing going then.

I'm hoping it holds through the upcoming weekend but I know my Mom is not. DH and I always visit August/September and the weather doesn't bother us.

We used to travel in October all the time and we had many vacations with temps in the 90's.

A "cold front" is supposedly scheduled for Friday and the highs next weekend will be in the low 80's. I can't wait!

But I'd rather have this than the snow, sleet, rain, ice, wind we had when I lived in Indiana!

We just came home and I'll admit it was HOT last week but I loved it. Being outside walking out of the MK at midnight wearing a tee and shorts telling my friend on the phone how I was sweating while she's home hibernating, priceless! We came home to rain and cold, frost, the possibility of snow. I've been freezing for the last 4 days and can't stand it. I'll take the heat over the cold anyday!
