NASSAU (Reuters) - The teenage son of actor John Travolta died suddenly on Friday during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to the family's lawyer.

Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said.

Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said.

Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the eldest child of Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston. They also have a daughter, Ella Blue, who was born in 2000.

I love John Travolta!! This must be horrible for him and his family!!

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Such sad news! I also love John ....way back to his Welcome Back Kotter Days. Kelly Preston also seems like a class act. That's awful news :(

This makes me so sad. I hate to hear when children are lost and so suddenly.

My prayers are with him family; they seem like such a nice family and I am praying for them.

OMG that is horrible I feel so sorry for him and the family.

Oh, that is such sad news. How horrible to have that happen to your child.

I just read this as well - that's horrible. I feel so bad for the family. :sad1:

That is so sad... we just saw Bolt and were talking about what a nice man he is....

That is sad for them, I am sure this will spark a lot of debate in the media since there is already a lot of controversy over the care of their son.

I can't even imagine what they are going to do to get through this... Everytime I saw an interview he talked about his son (and daughter) and how they were his entire life.

Prayers to the entire Travolta family
