I thought with my luck, I probably will end up with Hilton again. But I got Dolphin for 5/16 and 5/17 for $69 per night.

I have never really looked into Dolphin. Can you help me with the following:

I am a SPG Gold, given my reservation was made via Priceline, will I still be eligible for a possible upgrade to the Club Level with a better room?

Is Dolphin renovated?

I was told by Swan that by the end of the year, Swan will be completely done with its renovation. For our travel dates, is Dolphin recently renovated?

Thanks

Congratulations on the great price.

Spg gold will get you a one category upgrade and that is usually just a better view.

Dolphin was not renovated in December.

Congratulations on getting the Dolphin! What a great price for a fantastic location.

Thanks

Pig Pen, how did you like Dolphin from your last stay there? I heard some people complain about their beds. Thanks

You're so lucky to get Dolphin for $69!!! We stayed there 3 years ago at the awful convention rate of $189 US.

We are hoping to save enough to get to WDW next year. What is the secret to getting the Dolphin on Priceline? Is there one, or is it luck? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The way I did it this time was to use

biddingfortravel.com

and go to Florida Orlando board, check on people's winning bids to make sure people get Swan/Dolphin with my dates. I then bid with the same $. Also, you should check on the hotel's own website to make sure they have rooms available. I would not put in dates if they have already been sold out. You should read their FAQ to make sure you understand the rules. Just a suggestion.

Good luck. I was nervous because I did not want to get Hilton again. Nothing wrong with Hilton, but I really wanted to be on-property. I was lucky this time. I really did not want to try my chances but just could not resist the temptation that I might be able to get Swan/Dolphin at this type of price.

Seems like most of the people are just staying a couple of nights & getting the 'great rate'!!! Has anyone had luck getting the $69.00 rate for 9 nights???

You guys are going to LOVE the Dolphin! We just got back from the Dolphin 1/13 and had an incredible time there! Call SPG and have your membership number included on your reservation. Then call the Dolphin and ask for a possible comp upgrade to Club Level or View. Decide which you would prefer, CL or view, and then ask for that first and the other second! Good luck!

Last of the lucky ones... ;) Congrats!

Was only a short term promotion with Priceline on certain dates that has now been curtailed (Modified this morning)

Just back from Dolphin 2/22. They have not started to renovate yet. Beds are in rough shape. We had a great time otherwise. I am recommending people try the swan and request a renovated room. Great rate. Have fun.

K, P +J's Grandma, one of the posters on the Orlando Biddingfortravel board reported getting the rate of $69/night for either the Swan or Dophin (can't remember which ) for 9 nights :) I got the Swan for $69/night for 2 nights in May...I'm so excited!!!

SwanDolphin, where did you find out that this great Priceline rate was modified this morning and is over? I guess that I was hoping that it'd be a long-term thing on Priceline, LOL!

Chrissy-

Swandolphin IS the Swan & Dolphin - trust me - this person is the 'know all' for knowing if any type of promotion was starting/in process/ending etc.

It is too bad that the 'promotion' has ended. One of my son's is planning a trip to Disney in June - along with another family that has never been there before. He has stayed at the Swan before & was hoping for a good rate - was trying to get up the 'courage' to try priceline after reading about some of the success stories. Guess that he will have to figure out some place else with a good discount rate!!! Congrats to those who were successful getting such a great deal!!!!:D
