Anyway i am converting my grandpa's slides via my new slide converter. I came across their disneyland trip back when it was in the early years in the 60's. I can't wait to see what they took and what it looked like back then. Then again i don't quite know what it looks likes now because i have never been. lol.

I'll post some pictures here when i convert them.

And I sure hope you are talking about DisneyLAND 'cause Disney WORLD didn't open until 197 AD.

In fact America wasn't discovered until 1492.

I have dad's slides of my first trip to DL in 1957, I was 2 and so was DL! They are very precious to me, know you will have a blast going through them!

Poor DizFan101 - don't be scared of the teasing -- we'd love to see some of the pics from the 60's -- Good God -- I was alive then. May have been alive in 196 too -- I am feeling old today!

I did put DIsneyland....

What makes you think he's 1815 years old from my description?
i put 196? with a question mark because I don't know what year in 1960. it could have ment 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 etc.
But the pictures i have are from 1976.... It is from DisneyLand....

Because instead of reading it like nineteen sixty something, we read it as year 196, ha ha.

Do you know what I thought when I saw the first slide. "Wow her poor feet must have really hurt by the end of the day...ouch" :)

Thanks for sharing, I have alot of old pictures from our first trips, love to look at them, i was 3 or 4 years old, 39 years ago. Fun :)

Thanks for the pictures! I loved looking at them.
The only thing that really stood out for me was your grandmother's shoes!
OMG, imagine us walking around WDW nowadays with heels, although I do see it sometimes!

I enjoyed seeing these. My first visit was in 1975. We took no photos. Some smart a...aleck (not me) in our party said it was a waste of film to take pictures since you could just buy postcards that were of much better quality and cheaper too.

Of course the handful of postcards I smuggled home were, in later years, thrown out by my trash-a-holic dad.

Ah, the good old days.

Oh and I thought the same thing about the shoes. Your poor grandma. I remember that I wore my sister's very groovy gingham checked, cloth-topped clogs to the park. My mom had some new hush puppies and some Jackie-O sunglasses for the occasion.

This thread would be a better fit on the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move it there now.
