Olive Garden will offer active-duty military and veterans free entrees on Veterans Day this Friday.
It's a new offer from the Italian chain, owned by Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, which also recently apologized after a Kiwanis club wasn't allowed to fly an American flag in an Alabama Olive Garden. Darden's other chains, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse, have not advertised Veterans Day deals.
An Olive Garden spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment.
Olive Garden joins other chains such as Applebee's in offering free Veterans Day meals. Maitland-based Tijuana Flats also is offering half-off entrees to veterans for the first time
