old zoo in LA?

my ds has mentioned he'd like to see this- what is it,and is it worth a visit?
some abandoned zoo?

Doesn't look much different than the current Los Angeles Zoo. The "new" LA Zoo itself somewhat dated. They are in the process of building new enclosures, but there's still a lot of conventional cages. My wife and I had passes to the LA Zoo which we let lapse because it just wasn't worth the drive up from San Diego and we have two excellent zoos here, one within walking distance of our home.
