We bought 4 adult and 1 child 6 day PH tickets that expire in circa 2014, give or take. Ended up doing FD so still have the tickets and never used. Bought from large reputable discount ticket seller.

Now that our child is no longer a child, as they are unused the never aging policy does not apply, what options do we have for the child ticket?

We will use the 6 day adult tickets "someday" as we still have some 10 day PH with no expiration to use and don't plan on a longer trip for a while.

Is the best option to use the value or potentially sell for discount to current price?

What value do you get out of them? What you paid? Lose the discount?

Since they can be used at anytime, discounted a 6 day PH child is worth $698 or so assuming first day is Christmas but more fair value is probably around $640 given dynamic procong. Gate is as high as $741 or more fair $680.

If I wanted to exchange the child ticket for an adult one, do I get the current adult price? Or do they determine its value at the time?

Thanks to those more knowledgeable than I.

The value of pre-2017 tickets appears to be about $430 (found here). If you wish to exchange it for use by an adult, you would receive that credit towards current pricing.

When determining upgrade costs, you want to look at the current online price (WDW website) with the appropriate start date. "Gate price" is different (used to be ~$20 higher than online), and it can only be upgraded through WDW not the authorized reseller. Ticket pricing varies greatly based on time of year, with Christmas time tickets about the most expensive. So I wouldn't do any comparison based on that price unless that is when the ticket would be used. For example, a 6-day child's PH starting 8/22/22 is only $568 vs the $742 at Christmas time with an adult ticket only about $20 more.

Has the ticket been linked to MDE? If so, to "give" it to anyone else you would need to 1) upgrade the ticket and then 2) connect with them via Friends & Family to transfer it. If you have an extended family member or friend who can use it, that's an option. Otherwise, I'd hold it with the other (adult) tickets from the same time and upgrade when you do finally need to use those.

I had a ticket we didn’t use from 2013. In November I combined it with my 6 day hopper and paid the difference for an annual pass. They were selling Incredi-pass in November and because we would be making 3 trips this year it worked for us. I did this on the last day of our trip because guest services in MK was so busy but the process was not difficult at all. The difference was around $235 - 240 and the pass holder benefits have been great. Good luck!
