Thank you everyone for making me feel better about changing our reservation! I honestly know we're making a good decision - for so many reasons - but I needed that support!
And I'm returning to BC on 9/28....

In less than three days, we will be at the BC! Our flight leaves at 6am and we'll be leaving the house for the airport at 4am. I'm guessing I won't get much sleep Wednesday night.
I can't wait....butterflies are in my stomach.

Speaking of detours... Did I ever tell you about the time we were travelling down this country road and had to take a detour.....

Don't worry, she was totally joking!
You know, that's a very good point Dee, and as such, I did a little digging and found out the REAL story on how that poor little Dolly ended up on the Island of Misfit Toys . And yes, it is a sad one.
You see, she had an ADR at Raglan Road one afternoon, with Chatty Cathy and Mrs. Beasley, and the luncheon went quite well. But, when she bid her dear friends adieu as they caught the boat over to Saratoga Springs, Dolly realized she didnt know how to get back to the Yacht Club and her new little girl Sue!
She searched high and low, but no buses were to be found. She would have taken a cab back to the resort, but sadly she had spent her last dime on that lovely Irish Mudslide disoriented and alone, she sought refuge in the Lego store, but they told her she was too soft to hang with them.
So she sat there, lonely on a bench, slowly going mad until one day the Magic that is Disney Maintenance saw her, picked her up, and dumped her town the Lost and Misfit Toys chute.
Moral of the Story: Listen to the great BC/YC thread advice on how to escape DTD, or you too might end up on an island with a BirdFish.

Just booked our first trip to the Beach Club! Going Jan. 19-26 with my DH, our DS, DD and my in-laws. Feverishly making my ADR list for next week, yikes!

You know I'm kidding, right? This cracked me up!
Where's the open mouth, insert foot smilie???
OK, it is not every thread here on the DIS where you will have a reference to Chatty Cathy or Mrs. Beasley. I remembered Mrs. Beasley, but I thought it was Cindy Brady's doll. In fact, Mrs. Beasely belonged to Buffy from Family Affair.
For 5 (totally meaningless) points to the first person who can answer this without looking it up on the interweb... What WAS the name of Cindy Brady's doll???

It is with some regret that I announce that we will no longer be staying at BC in August. We've had too many vacations in 2012 and need to significantly slash the budget. In fact my DH would cancel the trip except for the non-refundable plane tickets for our family of 5.
I was able to get a 2 bedroom villa at Wyndham Bonnet Creek for $120 per night. We'll have a full kitchen to help reduce food costs and an in-room washer/dryer. Not to mention lots of extra space for our family of 5. My youngest tends to talk himself to sleep at night which leads to stressful bedtime in a hotel. My older 2 can share the 2nd bedroom (with 2 full-sized beds) and he can have the full-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The pool has a lazy river and a water slide, the resort has a mini-golf course, and we got a minivan rental for about $300 for the week. I have an AP so parking is still free.
This is not my first choice (our deluxe CL room at BC was....) but it's better than no vacation.
And I'll be back at Beach Club for the ToT race in September.
