OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

We just returned from our first stay at the BCV and we had a great time! My DH, sons, and myself all loved the resort and the resort area. I now understand why there are so many of you that love the BC/YC so much. We are already talking about our next trip to the World, and while we don't have dates yet, we already plan on staying at the BC. I'm sure I'll be visiting this thread often. :goodvibes

So glad to hear you had a great stay!

Please hang around with all of us who are just waiting (not-so-patiently) for our next trip to the resort!

This afternoon, my son Ben led a game of "What is the best ride/restaurant/queue/memory-catch phrase etc." at each park.

The boy is going through serious Disney withdrawal and is lobbying hard for a trip this year. He is very jealous of Nate's class trip.

So one of the questions was "What is the favorite resort you have stayed at Disney and what resort that you have not stayed at do you want to stay at?"

I answered "Beach Club" (Duh!) and...

"Yacht Club"

:lmao:

Ben would get along so well with our boys!!! We're always playing the Disney version of "Would You Rather?" I will lobby right along with Ben for another natebenma family trip! How about late January 2013??? :) We now have three family members firmly in the "BC as favorite resort" camp, our middle son loves BC but leans toward Poly, and my husband says it all depends on whether we're booking CL or not.

Following our January Poly/BWI trip, I'm getting some lobbying for another "on-the-way-to-the-airport from grandparents' condo" stop at BC. I'm weak and barely able to resist such pressure - especially with valid APs! And after our easter week holiday season rate split between POFQ and YC, I think BC/YC is 100% worth it.

If you guys (natebenma and pixarmom) can't make it July 2012 you have to wait until July 2013! We have to have a BC/YC Dis Meet with the real (not flat) Dee and Pixarmom!

There have been some rumblings in my house about January 2013. DH is getting the itch to run another Disney marathon! Stay tuned for any further developments!

Anyone who's there now, are you getting any of the fallout of hurricane Debby? I know northern Florida is, but I was wondering how it is in Orlando.

It is very, very wet. And under a tornado watch until 5 am.

We headed over to MK tonight about 7 pm after spending the final 4 hours of our drive down in some hard rain. There were some breaks in the rain as we unloaded the car and took the bus over, but after dinner at it was pouring once again.

We put on the ponchos and headed over to ride Space Mt there was not much of a wait. Walked right on Buzz, checked out the new Storybook area and walked on Dumbo and did back to back rides on Goofini. Walked on Pooh and the headed out just as Wishes was ending. There was a lot of standing water. Although they were trying to direct it to the drains.

MSEP was cancelled at 9 pm. Lines were small (Peter Pan was 20 min) but it was very wet everywhere, on the ground, on the rides, and in the stores.

Tomorrow looks more of the same unfortunately, but we will enjoy what we can until we are just too wet to keep going.

Hope it clears up some when you arrive.

Thanks for the response. I hope it clears up for you too. From what I'm reading, it's suppose to head north, but then it was suppose to go towards Texas, not Florida, so we'll see.

We're back home. To say we never had a trip like this one would be quite an understatement. Son's wedding and the whole Beach Club trip came off without a hitch (well a couple hitches but sometimes that's what makes it memorable). Plenty to get caught up on today but will try to post our highlights soon. May start a new photo thread to keep from clogging up the dialogue here.

Looks like a lot of families have booked the Y&BC for upcoming trips and joined in our little thread. Just a quick little welcome to all with future plans and to all down there now try and make the best of a soggy situation!

My daughter Lauren, has been playing this game since our return 3 weeks ago!!! It's very depressing.................and kind of sad.................cause I actually play along with her!!!:rotfl:

I thought after this trip, we wouldn't miss it so much, but it seems to have gotten worse than ever.

Happy Monday everyone! I had a friend visiting over the weekend so we were out and about quite a bit so I just got caught up. And of course, I want to see my ticker now.

Hope everyone who is there now is weathering through the storm as best you can. I'll be wishing for blue skies for you all. Just stay safe!

Quick question from a first-time Beach Club "resident": Beyond SAB, what are some of the "don't miss" features of the resort? Also, does anyone have any experiences with the spa services? DW has always wanted a hot rock massage. Just wondering what Spa Services offers. Thanks for the help!

Don't miss Beaches and Cream! We think they are the best burgers on proprty, great 50's atmosphere, and who could resist the kitchen sink! My kids love the campfire and movies on the beach every night.

My girls and I have done the spa at the GF but now it's closed for renovations. DH did have a massage once at BC and he said it was really good but I'm not sure of all the services they offer. I know they do massages but it's not a full fledged spa like the one at the GF. You can get a manicure/pedicure at Perriwigs.

HTH!

We love Beach Club for so many reasons. Of course SAB is great, but we also love the restaurants (Cape May and Beaches n Cream are both good, also just a short walk to Yacht Club for Yachtsman's Steakhouse and Captain's Grille). There are several lounges to get a drink if you like that, at least 4 I can think of off the top of my head. Plus walking around the resort at night is also fun. One of the biggest perks is being so close to Epcot. If you have a park hopper pass or annual pass you can go to Epcot in the evenings even if you went to a different park that day. We do that a lot. And of course we walk over to the Boardwalk area all the time too. Lots going on over there. Getting ice cream, checking out ESPN club, kids like the street performers (magician, juggler, etc). And our kids love to hit all the arcades and carnival games. We get them those arcade cards and they can use them anywhere. ESPN club has an arcade, and there is one by SAB also. I feel like I'm rambling on and on. LOL :lmao:

Finally caught back up after a weekend away.

First off, for everyone currently at Disney, I hope you have a wonderful trip and stay safe and dry!!! We'll send good "get the heck out of here Debby!" thoughts to you all. :grouphug:

MickeyT - Thanks so much for giving us updates during your trip! It sounds like a great time was had by all and I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Dee - As always, thanks for keeping everything here up to date! You put in so much work on this thread, and it shows as it's one of the nicest on the DIS!

Teena - I know I've missed you already, but I hope you had a great trip!

Hope everyone is enjoying their week!

I'm finally under 60 days!!

59 and counting until I'm resting my big behind on a lounge chair at SAB!!

Sorry, just had to share my excitement!

Does anybody have an email address for making a reservation request for our upcoming BC stay. How far out can you make a special request? Many thanks.

I think you can only email requests if you are staying Club Level, otherwise just call Disney's Reservation Hotline and add a room request.

Correct!

You can add a request to your reservation any time, but I recommend following up 2 weeks to 10 days before your trip to make sure that the request is on your reservation.

Many thanks both, I have emailed the ‘World’ to see what they have to say!
