OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I'm baaack!

We can't resist SAB and that walk to Epcot so I just changed my August ressie to a Poly/BC split.

Miss Teena, the boys can't wait to see you again! We will be at BC CL from 8/18-8/21. I hope you are working then!:banana::banana:

Yay!!! It's the perfect split, especially for August! :)

We fly out of Providence. I think it's about the same distance, but definitely more relaxing for us than coming to Boston...even though I do work in Boston. So no lobster coming from me either. I could bring her something from RI...coffee milk? Del's (they have the powder to make you own)? I'm thinking a stuffed quahog or an Iggy's doughboy won't travel very well. LOL

As for the lobster...If we bring a live one, maybe the chef at Cape May could whip up a lobster omelet for Teena's breakfast.

I could be off base (but I don't think I am)- I think a chocolate lobster is a lot more likely to bring a smile to Teena's face than a real one.

Do you eat any seafood, Teena?

Hello all, love this thread!

We just booked a last-minute YC stay for the end of the month to celebrate our 5th anniversary. :woohoo:

Does anyone know how many king bed rooms there are at the YC? I requested one but was wondering if our chances are slim on getting one. Also, does anyone have any king room photos? Doesn't seem to be many out there.

:welcome:

I don't know the answer to your question about the king beds, except to confirm your suspicion that there are not many. However, if you don't have any other requests, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Per the advice in the FAQ section, do not do the online checkin and ask at the desk whether your room does indeed have a king bed and if not, if one is available at the resort or even later in your stay if you don't mind switching rooms.

Happy Anniversary!

PS- I know I have missed a couple of welcomes over the past few days- and some of our returning friends are, well, returning. So I'll sweep through the last few pages of the thread tomorrow and hopefully catch up with all of the newly booked stays.

We do too:thumbsup2
Well we are only about 1/2 hr. away from PVD. But I don't think I could handle Logan. I love my small little airport.

coffee milk...... YUM!!! I grew up on that stuff!

My grandmother used to ship Autocrat coffee syrup to family in S.C.

Aaaaaand, we'll be there from the 19-21 for our split stay! Maybe we'll see you in the lounge!

I should be working that Sunday and Monday. I leave on Tuesday (8/21) to go help Jeanne get the classroom ready. Looking forward to seeing you!

Don't worry about us! I'm afraid to be added to the list anymore with my changing. It's too embarassing! :rotfl:

How fun! That would be great! :goodvibes

Only shrimp and Maryland crabs. Hate fish and not real fond of lobster.

We are staying at the YC and I booked the Backstage Magic tour. I need to check in for the tour at 8:45 at guest relations outside the front of EPCOT. EPCOT opens at 9 AM. I called WDW tours and was told that the international gateway will not be open for me prior to EPCOT's opening, so I have to find my own way to the front of EPCOT.

I was told my options are taking a bus from YC to the TTC and then the EPCOT monorail or take a cab. The WDW tour CM said that when I check into YC to ask to speak to the YC manager and ask them for help on getting to EPCOT's front entrance.

I think the cab is the way to go, taking a bus to TTC-Monorail option seems ridiculous and would take forever.

Anyone got any other ideas or how to get a cab at YC at 8:30 AM?

Cab is definitely the way to go!

There should be a few taxis out waiting at the YC front entrance, and you can ask one of the bell CMs to call one over.

Like you were told, you should ask for a manager when you check in and they may be able to help you or have suggestions to get you to the tour on time.

I wouldn't be messing around with Disney transportation to get to the front of the park.

As of about 5 years ago, I only ate shrimp, and recently found out I'm allergic to it. I also hate fish, so no seafood for me!

Now a chocolate lobster.....:)

We will be at the BC in less than 24 hours!!!!:cool1: Can't wait to get back there and relax and enjoy Disney and the BC again.

Besides, we're actually flying out of Manchester, NH (MHT).

Out of curiosity, what airlines are both of you flying on? And do you fly direct? We usually fly out of Logan even though T.F.Green is closer because we fly Delta and it is one of the few airlines that still maintains nonstop to MCO. It would be good to know that there are other airlines in the region that still have direct flights

Mildly off topic..... I'm thinking I'd better call back tomorrow, to verify that it's all there and correct. :worried:
I would. An extra call definitely will not hurt.

I could answer that.... I fly Southwest out of PVD
Direct non-stop ALWAYS:thumbsup2

Experts, are there any good requests at BCV? This is our first time staying there and not sure if any areas are better than others? (I know none of the rooms have amazing views, right?)

I was just there. We stopped in York (and of course my DW had to stop in Kittery!!) on the way home and grabbed some taffy from Goldenrod for a neighbor.

This was after my kids spent gobs of money at Harbor Candy in Ogunquit the previous 4 days!!

Jay

I love Goldenrod! My oldest enjoys Kittery, especially for back to school shopping and my youngest seems to be on auto pilot when we walk by Harbor Candy! Did you notice they are selling frozen bananas there? Not the same as WDW.

Hey!

We didn't a chance to check out Littlefields. We might go back to the Anchorage again this weekend for a night so maybe we can check it out then.

We had a really great time, so much so that we added another night (we got the very last room thanks to a late cancellation!) and just hung around the new pool all day. The weather was in the mid 80's which was cool comapred to Mass from what we were being told and texted. Lots of pool and relaxation time, which was well needed!!

Jay

I won't be around this weekend, family parties in MA. I have been enjoying every second here! Awesome that you got to add an extra night! Such a beautiful resort. The new pool looks wonderful! If you go back this weekend, enjoy!

My new snow vehicle by balladier, on Flickr

Us poor folks in the lower 48 are driving our Honda's and Chevy's with the bald tires in the snow!

Warning! The following includes Beach Club Content! (Kitty Carry All sold separately!) Oh look at that! My Beach Club Ticker is at 4 months and so many weeks. I better get crakin on reserving that lounge chair at Storm Along Bay!;)

LMAO!! I do have a Subaru AWD with studded tires... Pretty close to the winter vehicle!!!!

We fly out of PVD as well and Southwest is the only airline to offer non-stops. But Jet Blue just announced yesterday that they are coming to PVD!! Starting in November they will have non-stop flights to both Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.

We fly out of MHT on Southwest.
