A friend just asked me about 4 old non-expiring tickets that they have. Based on the age of her youngest daughter and that 1 ticket is a child't ticket, they are probably 12+ years old. They are pre-finger scanning tickets.

Is there a way for her to find out what it still on them? They are going to Disney in a few weeks and can take the tickets with them.

What would be the process of using them in the future? Can they have Disney check the balance but not actually use them? My friend already has tickets for their upcoming trip.

Thanks to any of the ticket experts who can help them determine the best way they can use these tickets in the future.

1- They are going to Disney in a few weeks and can take the tickets with them.

2- What would be the process of using them in the future?
3- Can they have Disney check the balance but not actually use them?

1- Take the tickets to any WDW Guest Relations counter.
2- They can be used, as-is, but not upgraded.
(If the ticket was originally used by a then (at that time) "child,"
that ticket can be converted (at no charge) for use by the now (at THIS time) adult.)
3- Yes.

Thanks so much @Robo for your quick response. Since these tickets are so old and not actually linked to a person, can anyone use the balance of the days on the child's ticket?

The reason I'm asking is that the parents now travel to Disney on their own as the children are grown and take vacations separately. If the 2 parents have 4 partially used non-expiring tickets, can the 2 parents use the balance of the 4 tickets?

The only thing I am comfortable saying to this is, "maybe."

The extra complexity comes specifically from the former "child ticket."

Regardless, if the Guest Relations CM(s) you encounter will OK the tickets (at least some of them)
they can issue new plastic RFID tickets (with the same assists that are still connected with the old tickets)
that can then be used at WDW. (And/or can be put into your MDX account for making advance-booked FP+ for a future time.)
