At one time, Disney would have been mortified at the thought of having an "outside", "unauthorized" resort so close.... but I think those days are long gone.

When you say "disney" would have been mortified, do you mean Walt Disney, or the disney company since Walt's passing?

Who says they are not "mortified", but I don't see what they could really do about it.

I don't know why they would be mortified. Disney's property has a defined border. Business has been growing along that border for years. This new resort may have the feel of being on-property but it's no different then any other off-property resort. WDW can build buffers as needed to give the property a remote feel. IMO WDW see's the Fairfield as a great opportunity. I think they'd rather have it next to CBR then Portifino's.

I agree. This hopefully gets some of those willing to stay for longer periods of time closer to Disney propoerty. My parents have Fairfield points and they have stayed at the other locations close to Disney. They will definitely stay here and Disney will get more of their money.

By the way, does anyone know what the Wyndham is doing over by Saratoga Springs? They have some construction going hot and heavy and a unique looking structure going up.

Nothing to do with the Wyndham. Its a new fire/rescue/sheriff dept.
