I love both resorts, but for different reasons. The vibe at OKW is very relaxing, and the smaller buildings make it feel like there is hardly anybody else staying there. But, I would only stay there if I have a car as the bus ride takes an eternity to meander through the resort, the food choices are more limited, and getting to a mug refill station after the Turtle Shack closes at 5am is a very long trek. I do not have small children so I really enjoy the quiet pools at OKW, but if you want to go to the Sand Castle Pool it can be another hike if you are not close to the hospitality pool.
The food court at POP is convenient with many choices that will often change throughout the week, and there is only one bus stop with a very organized queue, and buses have always been plentiful when I have been there. The downside for my daughter and I has always been the crowded feeling, and the constant noise coming from the outer hallways and the pool, we want to leave that stuff at the parks and be able to relax at our resort.
In conclusion, if I had a vehicle I would pick OKW due to the atmosphere. If I was relying on Disney transportation I would pick one of the outer buildings at POP, but we are only a party of two, so room size is not a priority for us.
And know that you will have a great time no matter where you stay.
