Hi, we're going to WDW in November. We've invited my friend and her 7 year old son. I'm thinking a villa would be better than a regular room because there will be 5 of us. The rate for the 2 bd is really good but before I book, I have questions:

1. Is it easy to get around the resort?
2. Is there a building that I should request?
3. Is there a table service restaurant? Room service?
4. Is the pool nice, in case it's warm enough to swim?

Please add any additional info that you think might help! Thanks so much..

1. VERY easy! There are internal buses as well as great sidewalks. All buses stop at the main area before exiting the resort, so any bus can be used to get back to the front desk.

2. All buildings are pretty equal. Request what is important to you. i.e. near a pool, near a bus stop, water view, golf view, woods view. etc. etc.

3. Yes there is Olivia's table service and a quick service at the main area as well. No room service though.

4. There are 4 pools at OKW. The main one is the only one that has a slide though, and most are almost too warm sometimes. We have had no trouble swiming in them even in January.

While there is no room service, you can order pizza delivery. There are many offsite pizza places that will deliver. And Sassagoula Pizza at Port Orleans will deliver to OKW. You're also a nice boat ride away from Downtown Disney and all those restaurants.

Thanks so much for the information! Pizza delivery is great!
I didn't realize that there was a boat to DTD from OKW!! That's a wonderful extra!

By all means get a villa. The extra space is well worth it, plus you have a full kitchen. Ask for a villa near the main pool.

ask for a villa near the HH.

that is now a reservation request. so when you make the reservation ask for near the HH.

Thanks everyone! I made the reservation. Tomorrow, I'll call back and request a villa. Are the villas close to the main pool also close to the HH?

All DVC rooms, no matter what DVC resort, are called "villas" there are studio villas (which are similar to a deluxe hotel room), one bedroom, two bedroom, and 3 bedroom villas. A "grand villa" is what they call a 3 bedroom unit at all DVC resorts, except for Hilton Head, where they are called Beach Cottages.

The near HH (Hospitality House) buildings at OKW are near the main pool, restaurant, check-in area and dock for the boat to DtD. These are buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. However, if you will be in a one bedroom or larger unit, (I see you will be in a 2 bedroom unit, so this will apply) there was a design change during OKW construction. In bldgs 29 and under, there is one entrance to the master bathroom...through the master bedroom. Meaning if someone is sleeping on the sleeper sofa in the living room, there isn't a lot of privacy for the occupants of the master bedroom if the sofa people need to use the restroom during the night.

Bldgs 30 and higher have two entrances to the bathroom, through the master bedroom AND through the laundry room.

Oh, I forgot about Vero Beach resort, there ARE standard hotels rooms there that are part of DVC. They are call "inn rooms" and are in the main inn building.

Here is link to map of OKW that you may find helpful in getting a better idea of its various areas :

Buildings 11 - 14 and 23 - 26 are in the Hospitality House booking category. If you are interested in HH area you'd need to make the request with MS (of course it's subject to availability).

The above mentioned buildings are a short walk to HH area where main pool, Olivia's etc are located. Boat to Downtown Disney & Saratoga Springs Resort is there as well.

Good luck with your planning :wizard:

 I meant villa building. You'd think I wouldn't make that mistake since we own at DVC but I guess since BWV is all in the same building, I've developed the habit of just saying the villas.

Thanks so much for the information about the master bath! I just looked at the floor plan-that's a little quirky but ok. My daughter and her friend will want to walk to the pool and restaurant, so I'd rather be in a villa building close to the main pool, if possible.

Thanks for the map link!! I made the reservation through CRO because I'm saving points for next year. If they can't fill the request, it's ok. Honestly, I've gone to WDW since 1973 and in all of that time, I've only had 1 room that I didn't like so even if I would get a room location that I don't love, I'll be fine.:)

Y'all have been great answering my questions! Here's some fireworks for all of you:
