We're going in June with my full complement of in-laws but my family (4) and my Motheri n law and Father in law are going a few days early so we can have some Grandparent/Grandkid exclusive time before all the other cousins get there.

I think for these few days we're more likely to hit Epcot/Hollywood and a water park over MK. My mother-in-law is dealing with a little hip issue now, so maybe if one of these 2 resorts has less walking that might be good?

Any advice is appreciated!

Normally, we'd recommend OKW over SSR anytime - we just like the feel and the rooms at OKW. But something to keep in mind if you have a person in your party who might have issues with stairs. Most of the buildings at OKW do not have elevators. So you'd want to request a first floor accessible room (perhaps - if your MIL is still having issues) or one of the few buildings that do have elevators. The rooms at OKW are larger and would offer the ability to spread out more. Both resorts are large and could lead to you being located away from the main building. If you could somehow get an OKW reservation in the 'near hospitality house' category, I would highly recommend it. Good luck with your choices!

Treehouses have stairs to enter, but the layout would be great for your group(imo). As said before OKW -ask for first floor. Enjoy

Personally I would go OKW as I like the feel of that resort better over the treehouses. Certainly request an accessible room if needed and you could request to be near the clubhouse. I wasn't a huge fan of staying at treehouses. Primarily because it was secluded and wasn't easy to get to/from places and Disney transportation doesn't always seem very efficient.
