Old Key West Helps Direct Sales Rise Slightly in April 2024

At 3,940 points per month the cabins will be about 85% sold out when the resort expires.

At this rate of decay (each month about 40% worse than the previous), the cabins will be selling less than 100 points per month by January.
Perhaps DVD needs should market CFW toward people looking to stay for a month. (Snowbirds?)
A single deed today is for 550 points.

Well… there are some outliers that bought even more than that to get the highest price breaks…
Example of outliers...

Today's documents show one person bought 1000 OKW points (four 250 point contracts).
Another person bought a 500 OKW contract.

These will be in June's sales data, so it won't even show up in DVCNews May sales numbers later this month.

Probably some fruit cake obsessed with the top price break available to existing members, thinking $95 per point is the cheapest way to get direct points in 20 years and will almost never stay at Old Key West anyway. Why do they let people do stuff like that? Asking for a friend....

Wait is it you? Did you close in June? If so, I want to revise my 220 average May contract prediction down to 210. 🤣

The person who purchased did so because OKW is her favorite resort.

Hah, I know who that is. They’re a regular poster over on the timeshare user group. They got an incredible deal with the various incentives, somewhere around $100 a point (I think even a few dollars less).

Unless there are two people who bought 4 contracts at 250 points each, that regular poster is right here and it’s a He, not a She. And it worked out to $95 a point.

They sold out of OKW points in May - that’s my definition of big.
Okay, but we don't know how many they had to start...if they only had 20K and sold out, not sure I consider that big...but, let's see how many it ends up being.

Not to say that this wasn't a popular promotion...it was...and they certainly appear to have sold more than CFW! It will be interesting to see how it shakes out in the end....

I would say that I am sure DVD wasn't disappointed to have sold them!

What do you define as big? I haven't seen the numbers. Do you those?
And just 32 contracts.

476 274 OKW contracts (476 included resale). I’m not counting all that.
On another thread CastAStone found 274 direct contracts— we know some of them were huge and I’d be surprised if any were less than 100, so I’m guessing maybe 50-60k points?

There’s always some people adding on 25 or 50 points but I’d bet you’re close on the total.
