Both of the resorts are Disney Vacation Club resorts, so yes the are owned by time share owners(we have 250 points at SSR), but part of the deal that DVC has with Disney is that that rooms can be reserved for cash paying resort guests. There are several DVC owned sections in many resorts. Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House. Then there are separate DVC resorts, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Kidani Village Animal Kingdom Villas. They are considered deluxe resorts, but they do not have the "normal" hotel room arrangements. There are studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and Grand Villas. They are a "home away from home". The studio has a small fridge, refidgerator, and one queen bed and a sofa bed(except for Old Key West which has two queen beds). The 1 BR, 2 BR and Grand Villas have a full kitchen, living and dining area, and a washer and dryer. If you are a cash paying guest you will receive daily mousekeeping, however if you own or rent points from a DVC member you will get either trash and towel or full service depending on the length of your stay. If you are interested in DVC properties, do some reseach on the DVC boards as well as the rent/trade boards. Hope this helps!!
