Thanks mom!

Thats a bunch of stuff. I usually pack whatever will fit in my suitcase, and then figure if I need something, I can buy it there. But that's a good list.

I don't know about Wendy, but for me just trying the suit on is traumatic enough. :scared1:

You guys are all too hard on yourselves. I bought a cute suit from Sears at the end of last summer. Its cute, fits well, keeps the girls in place, and doens't make my flaws look worst than what they are. Im sure you guys look fine in your suits. Remember, I gained 50 pounds since starting school, I don't feel the best about myself in a swimsuit, but I sitll wear it. I don't want to miss out on stuff just because I don't have the "perfect" body. Get over yourselves or you are gonna miss out on fun.

Easier said than done sometimes. I haven't gone swimming in years and years. Honestly, I couldn't tell you the last time I swam. :confused3

That's what happened! :rotfl2:

I ended up in the dressing room trying on a swimsuit and sitting down wearing a too small one piece, near tears, eating a granola bar.

I know its easier said than done. But come on....swimming is fun. You are missing out by being to worried about your bodies. Seriously, when it comes down to it, no one cares. And anyone who does is just feeling bad about themself and wants to deflect it onto someone else. Suit up!

It can't be that bad. And its not your body that was the issue, the issue was the suit was too small. Get a healthy girl's swim suit and you will be fine.

Hey guys!!! I know I'm not joining this trip, but I got lonely over on the Disneyland thread!!

But I am in agreement with Stacie about--c'mon buy yourself a suit!! I know that I am a bit extreme...since I am the TOTAL water baby and spend about 4 hours a week swimming laps, but I wear my bulgy speedo with pride. No one cares what you got going on in your suit as long as you buy the appropriate suit and what you have going on is kept INSIDE the suit!!

I had a friend who spent an entire pool type vacation out of the water in a cover-up. Not wearing a suit didn't fool anyone...we knew she was chubby under that terry cloth, might as well brought it on out and gotten in the water!!

I would about NEVER give up a chance to play in a fun pool!!!

Exactly!

Seriously, I use a butt curtain at times, board shorts, cover ups and such to hide things when walking to and from the pool. But I am not about to miss out on things because I gained 50 pounds. Life is too short.

I always wear a suit. But I always wear some sort of cover up thingy.
We have waverrunners, so we spend a lot of time on the water in the summer.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! ("curtain" - :rotfl2:)

I've used board shorts and swim skirts that velcro over your swimsuit. I buy my suits from Land's End which has all sizes and even long torso versions. I love tankini styles that are easy to get on and off but look like a one piece.

And - I have a skinsuit. This is a long sleeved, long legs, very lightweight stretchy material usually in black. It can be used under wetsuits or by itself to prevent sunburn or rashes from a boogie board. And it's also great at hiding cellulite. Prevents stings from jellyfish and other sea creatures.

Okay, switching topics, I am so sad to say that I went to Dl today (I had to rush back inside the house to print out the ring order sheet) and they told me they haven't had the rings for months.:scared:

Now I bought Beth's in Feb. And then I had called them way back when Beth asked for another and the woman said to me, "Don't worry, we always stock these." Anyway, it wouldn't have helped for anyone else to try in the last month or so as it must have been right after I spoke to her that they sold out. :furious:

I even checked other shops that had carried them too and they said the same thing.

So it is my quest now. I will keep trying and let you know what I find. Sometimes I worry about posting anything on these boards because it seems like lurkers rush down and buy them out. <sigh> If anyone is headed down there, I can give you the list.

PM me the list and where you think we might find them. I am going this weekend sometime, and two or three more times before the end of the month.

Thanks for the list! With the way my mind has been lately it will be nice to have something to go by.

Ugh, don't you hate that. Seriously. I've been there, done that. Not just with suits but with other things.
Were you bummed about something else already? The reason I ask, is because my mood greatly affects how I think I look. Meaning, my weight and everything can stay the same, but if I'm already stressed about some other aspect of my life, my confidence ends up shot, and I think I look like crap.

But on a good day, when things are going smoothly and I go out or go shopping, if I feel good, well rested, and such, then I think I look pretty darn good, even though nothing has really changed. Kwim?

So only shop when you are in the right frame of mind and feeling good. I hope that makes sense.

 You mean people know I'm really chubby under here???

;) I know what you mean. Sometimes I like to think I can hide it, but really, who are we kidding. :rotfl: Thanks for the advice, and come over and play here anytime.

You forgot the most important thing--alcohol!!!! and jello!
I just thought we'd buy those here during our grocery run. ;)

It was. I thought it would be too big.
I've done that too. Tried on something that to me, looked huge and I thought no way will that fit, only to have it fit perfectly. :scared1:
Hang in there hon. Don't be so down on yourself. No matter what, you are beautiful, fun, and a total sweetheart. Always remember that.

Okay, switching topics, I am so sad to say that I went to Dl today (I had to rush back inside the house to print out the ring order sheet) and they told me they haven't had the rings for months.:scared:
Oh bummer. Well shoot. Thanks for checking though. We still have time, maybe Stacie will have better luck between now and then.

Thanks for the list! With the way my mind has been lately it will be nice to have something to go by.
:thumbsup2 Hopefully everything's on there. lol Can't imagine what I could have missed. :rotfl:
