Can i ask what you all do with your old computers when they get very old & just about work. :confused3

I've uninstalled everything from mine , & have taken everything a part . The boards i have scratch using a screw driver, & now they are sitting in a bucket filled with bleach & boiling water.

This might seem draft & extreme to some but i'm so worried that someone might find a chip with some data on.

So i'm wondering what do you do

Will it blend? :rotfl:

The main thing to worry about is your hard-drive. As long as that is destroyed good and proper, you should be fine.
I suppose you could always bury that in your own garden or somewhere, if it is a real worry :thumbsup2

Think i've well & truly damaged the hard drive now :goodvibes

I like to smash mine to bits too. :)
My last one caused me no end of problems, so i had fun smashing it :rotfl:

I remove the hard drive and have the rest of it put out for uplift. I have 2 hard drives sitting in my cupboard now. Didn't think about smashing them.

Our two laptops are just sat in our cellar....we haven't got a clue what to do with them.

I am lucky, have a computer repair shop next to me. He wipes everything then makes a package with new keyboard, mouse & monitor and sells it, he takes a little profit from the new items I get remainder for my base unit.
For laptops they never in good condition to sell so we have about 4 or 5 of them knocking about the house + the 3 we currently use.
Just take out the hard drive and either store or smash.

I took out the hard drive and put it in a housing (copied the steps from you tube).

This makes a great backup disk for photos and music :)

The rest of the materials I put to the recycling facility.

I love that phrase: "Store or smash?" :rotfl:
