If DS does the main event night activities with the 10-12Lab what shows, etc will he be missing at these times? Boy, am I glad after looking at this more closely that we chose early dining - dining 6pm but shows are at 830?

Sat night - 830-10pm - he'll miss night time family show
Sun night - 930-1115 - could make the family show this night
Mon night - 730-830 - maybe we can save him a seat at show
Tues night - 645-745 & 1030-1115 - can make family show btwn Lab activities
Wed night - 830-11pm - will miss family night show
Thurs night - 730-1130 - miss family night show
Fri night - 830-930 - will miss family show again

I guess I need to ask what is more important for DS to go to the family show, what family show shouldnt be missed, or to go with the kids?

imgoingtodisney, We cruised in June on the 4-day Wonder and our two DSs, 9 and 7, did the kids clubs off and on the whole trip. We decided since it was their vacation as well, we would let them choose what they wanted to do. They ate dinner with us three of the four nights (they missed Triton's) and spent time in and out of the clubs throughout the trip. Our oldest spent a good part of the day at Castaway Cay in the club while the youngest divided his time between the club and time with us. While they were in the club that last day, DW and I went to Disney Dreams and we enjoyed it so much, we asked them to go with us to see it again that night and they did. They loved it! If the family doesn't do anything else together, at least make sure you see Disney Dreams together.

With the beeper that they give you when you enroll the kids in the club, it is really easy for the kids to let you know when they want to leave. On at least two separate occasions, we were paged to pick one of the boys up and when we got the where they were, they had changed their minds and wanted to stay. Again, our approach was that this was their vacation as well and we let them select their activities. Enjoy!

I can;t answer your lab question. But if you do late seating you don't miss the shows. Late seating sees thier show first at 6:00 .

Yes but if we had late dinner seating he would never be eating with us!!

ImgoingtoDisney: We had early seating and generally the kids would run off to the lab by 7:30ish. It seemed that some nights the main activity started at that time and on other nights the main activity started around 9:30-10. At about 8:20 one member of the 4 adults in our party would go to the club and lab and collect any of the 4 kids that was interested in seeing the show. The ones that didn't want to in our family stayed in the kids program...the friends we were traveling with insisted their kids do the shows with us. For the most part, the kids really enjoyed the shows. They were back at the lab/club by 9:45ish each night.

I hate to be the dissenting opinion on Disney Dreams but here is my input. The friends we traveled with insisted their 5 & 9 year old boys go to Disney Dreams and I made my 6 yr old DS go, my 10 yr old DD had seen it once on the 3 day cruise and opted to skip it. While the 5 & 6 yr old boys really liked it, the 9 yr old was not as impressed. Yes, he liked the show but said he probably would have enjoyed the lab more. He thought the show was somewhat "girly" and wasn't as interesting to him as the juggler was on a previous night. So, you your own insight for your dS, don't push the shows, decide together what would be best for him.

The lab seems to set up activities around dinner and shows and he should be able to do most everything he wants although sometimes he has to pick one over the other.
