OKW with ECV Question

We are staying in a Grand Villa at OKW starting Oct. 31, 2011. I know that Grand Villas are second and third floor accomodations. When I made the reservations, I informed the CM that we would be using an ECV and needed to be able to access the villa. I had a suspicion that the CM didn't get the picture and after niggling doubts for the last four months, I called only to find out that the CM didn't put in that request. (I know there are only two buildings that have elevators.) The CM that I spoke to yesterday has waitlisted us for one of those buildings but..in the event we don't get it, what do we do with the ECV when we're in the villa? My husband can get up and down the stairs although it isn't a very quick process. Is there a place that is covered and has a plug for charging the battery outside the villa?
Any help will be appreciated.

I would call again and make sure that it is noted as a "medical necessity" not a request.

If your GV is on the second floor, you would be able to store the ECV at Hospitality House. Ask when you check in.

If you want to make sure you get one of the accessible units, call the Special Reservations phone number in the post about accommodations in the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
They take care of requests for both people staying on points and paying for DVC villas. Special Reservations should block one of those 2 villas for you. The GV in building 48 is accessible from the ground floor and has a roll in shower and accessibility features on the first floor. The second floor is only accessible by going up the stairway inside the room.
The other GV is in building 63 (I think it’s 63. I know it is one of the 60’s buildings). That villa begins on 2nd floor, but the building has an elevator. The other floor of that GV is accessible inside the villa via the staircase and also has an outdoor entrance.

Without a block, someone else could decide they like ‘your’ location better and take the one the was tentatively assigned to you. Or, if someone else checks in and needs first floor or elevator access, they can be re-assigned to that villa.
