OKW Webcam for Jan. 3-7, 2005

What a great view. The sky looks great, I'm thinking of us being at WDW on Friday right now.

Think I'll just put my feet up and watch the sunset - Maybe a drink would be in order --- Thanks so much - you've made a perfect end to what has been a not so super day.

I am glad that I could bring some sunshune to everyone's day. The cam should start posting around sunrise in the morning.

We are off to Olivia's for dinner and more relaxation before visiting Epcot tomorrow. Have a great night wherever you are!

When my wife went to Hank's earlier to pick up some lunch they said it would be mid-January at the earliest before it would open. We walked over yesterday morning to check out the slide but the area is still closed off. Quite disappointing.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like a gorgeous morning! Wish I was there right now!!

Thanks for setting this up and posting it. Makes me antsy for our next trip!

Cool. It is great to sneak a peak of OKW from Work. I have to show the gang. Which device/program are you using?

Thank you for sending us all some pixie dust. Hope you have a fantastic time. Thank you for thinking of all of us.

The camera that is set up is an Apple iSight (any one will actually work) hooked through an Apple Powerbook. Since I am inbetween ISP's for web hosting I am just saving the image file (taken every minute) to a local folder that is then synchronized to my .Mac account which allows me to have web sites.

The software I found yesterday after a Google search. It is called ImageCaster from Econ Technologies.

The highly technical aspect of this installation is that it is positioned between the blinds of the back door! I will be a little more prepared in October at BCV.

I did not think ahead of time about doing this but while sitting on the porch checking e-mail I had a brain storm...my wife called me a geek and went to the pool although she did think it was cool.

We put up a webcam in much the same manner from BWV about a year ago. It was in celebration of our first Boardwalk view! We had a PC laptop and a webcam from home, then I just used freeware to synch up and ftp the file to our virtual host where our web site is. It's much easier than it sounds.

We actually brought our wireless router so we could use the internet connection on a second laptop at the same time! Yes, we DH and I are both uber geeks, but it sure was fun!

Thanks for the OKW cam! I hope to put ours up again in May when we're back at BWV!
