Are there any buildings that would give you a view of a parking lot like SSR? I would like to know in advance so I can get a nice view at check in if possible.

When we went to SSR in July we were first given a view of a parking lot. This did not go over big with us so we immediately called the front desk to be moved. We just came from BWV with a BW view and this was a disappointment.

TIA

There are not huge parking lots at OKW. Since you park in front of each building, the side of the building facing the parking area is mainly used for the entry to the rooms themselves. Most of the rooms have golf course or water views. Here's the map of the resort, which may help get you oriented to the layout of each building.

As for "best" views, we enjoyed Buildings 13, 14, 23, 45,46, 55, 62, 63 & 64. IMHO, I loved 23 & 46 the best of all the buildings I've stayed in at OKW.

If you really don't want to see any traffic going by the resort, avoid Buildings 50-54 on the southern end of the property, as Buena Vista Drive is visible from these rooms. I have not stayed in the buildings that are on the western side of the resort near Bonnet Creek Parkway, but only a few buildings seem to face the parkway.

Remember that certain units close to the Hosiptality House are now part of a special request category (including Unit 23), so be sure to check with Member Services when making requests.

Enjoy your trip!

When will that special booking catagory go into affect anyway? When I made this ressie back in June I asked for a building near HH.

We are going in 35 days.

Check with MS to see if they converted your request to this new booking category. I can't remember when this started, but I do recall seeing that they would convert existing reservations with HH requests to the new category.

Don't worry, there aren't any parking lot views at OKW. At least I don't recall any. Your balcony will look out over either a golf course or water of some type (pool/stream/pond), or perhaps just a wooded view.

What type of villa are you staying in? I remember once that someone staying in a 1 BR in building 44 talked about how terrible their view was-they said half of their view was of a parking lot and the other half was a "dried up pond". Since we always stay in 1 BRs at OKW, I've been on the lookout to avoid that one. However, I'm hoping someone else who's stayed in that can report that it's not necessarily true.

We are staying in a 1 bdr. I requested near HH but not sure if we'll get it. We'll be checking in early on a Sunday, around 10 or 10:30 AM.

None of the OKW villas have "parking lot" views. There are a few where you could see a roadway - but even that is not the main view from the balcony.

Enjoy! :)

Well it seems that OKW has nice views all around. I don't think I have to worry now.

When we were at OKW 11 yrs. ago I do remember the parking lot being in the front of the villas.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no real parking lot views at OKW. There may be a "if you hang over the deck railing and look to your left at a 90 degree angle" you'd see a corner of the asphalt or something, but in general, you have golf course, water or wooded views there.

Just as an FYI-we like the Turtle Pond (or is it Turtle Creek??? Turtle Something) or Southpoint locations. They are a bit farther away from the main area, but both locations are close to a bus stop and a quiet pool, have generally nice OK views and are close to the path you can take to walk to SSR & DTD. I don't particularly care for the Miller's Road location because you can see & hear the main road through the trees over there and the areas near the HH always seem noisy to me too.

Realistically, IMHO there is not a terrible location at OKW, but Southpoint & Turtle Whatever are just a smidge nicer.

Disney Doll said it best. We LOVE the South Point area best because of the ease of getting to DTD, and the fact that it is the second bus stop. It means you get to get off the crowded night time buses quickly! Being near HH isn't necessary. It is much easier to find a seat on the bus if you are at South Point or Turtle Pond. Also, if you aren't into walking, ANY bus at ANY bus stop will take you to HH. Just hop on the first bus at your nearest bus stop, and the last stop will be HH before the bus leaves the complex.
