OKW transportation

So how's the transportation at OKW? It looks like it's going to be the only available on-site option for us in Aug. since we are going to have 5 adults between the ages of 20 and 50. I want the twenty-somethings to be able to get around pretty easy if they want to go out so I do like the proximity to Pleasure Island/DD. We will have a rental car so not a big deal but we probably will all be going separate ways most of the time.

OKW buses are ok, they do not seem to run as frequently as the other WDW resorts do. OKW buses are sometimes 30 minutes a part while the other resorts are 15-20 minutes apart. The one good thing is OKW buses are usually not jammed packed because a lot of people that stay there drive their own car. DTD & PI have boat transportation from OKW until 9:45 PM and you can also walk there from OKW. We have used OKW buses and they are ok, not great but just ok. We have found the best bus transportation to be at the value resorts--go figure!!

As DeeP just posted, it isn't to bad. We were there in feb, and never waited more than 15-20 minutes. We had a rental car also that we used for DD and off-site restraunts, The boat to DD runs every 30 minutes. Either way, busses or car, will be ok.

in december the transportation was fine. the only times we waited was when we just missed the bus--just like at the other resorts.
