OKW Studio Suggestions??

I know you've received some good suggestions here but I wanted to add mine. My wife and I bought resale at OKW this year. We stayed in a studio earlier this year. We were in building 32 on Old Turtle Pond Road. The bus stop was right in front of our semicircle of buildings (buildings 32-35). We were immediately adjacent to the cul-de-sac with buildings 41-44. That cul-de-sac has a pool (with arcade and snack shop), laundry, and BBQ area. FWIW it is a lovely area. I'm sure everywhere is lovely and I'm not saying rooms elsewhere aren't better. Just providing some feedback. Oh, and there is ice at the bus stops and a vending machine. The bus stops have the signs that tell you how long until the next bus (thank goodness for this). Enjoy your stay!

Just a heads up but the My Disney Experience MDE app will also have the bus arrival times.

A cousin and I stayed in Building 28 and it was perfect. The studios are in the center of the building so you have windows on the front and the balcony/veranda on the back (the veranda overlooked the golf course and was very relaxing). We stayed in a 2nd floor studio, which is the top floor in this building configuration; I thought this was the best of both worlds since we didn't have anyone walking around on top of us but we didn't have to climb 3 flights of steps.

It was an easy walk to the Hospitality House but there is also an internal bus stop extremely close to the building parking lot.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and advice. Think we are going to request building 44. It seems to split the difference between the bus stop and the pool. Im sure I will be happy no matter where we stay. We are going to use TouringPlans for the room request. I will update how it goes or if we get close to our request after our trip. Hoping to be close to the pool in Old Turtle Pond area

DVC resorts toss out faxes. They've told members not to bother faxing. That goes for others, too. Just add your request to your reservation.

We will be there in 27 days. I will be interested to hear if you get a studio near your request. We requested same area

I did both, can't hurt and you never know if a fax might just slip into the right hands. I get the whole DVC throws them out thing but I bet someone looks at them (at least looks at them).

I'm going to give it a try anyway. This is my first time. Worst case scenario is they throw it out and I am stuck at a DVC resort for 5 days!....lol If it works great!

I will. We are just hours away from heading HOME! I will try to give an overview of when I got my room assignment, where the initial room is and how things go from there.

Just got back from our Disney 6.0 vaca. We got exactly the room we requested!!! Old Turtle Pond 4310 - right across from the pool and 30 steps from the bus stop! It was truly an amazing stay! Not sure if the call in request or the fax worked? I am assuming that it was the request that we made when we did the on-line check-in. That was the feeling that I got. Regardless, we could not have asked for a better location. The reno of the rooms looks awesome and the Old Turtle Pond area is quiet and beautiful!

Not sure if the call in request or the fax worked? I am assuming that it was the request that we made when we did the on-line check-in. That was the feeling that I got. We were there for 5 nights ending on the 27th. Overall, we loved the location. Being only a few steps from the pool, snack bar, and laundry was a major plus for us. Only downside of the room was no view from the balcony to speak of and so highway noise. We were never on the balcony enough for that to bother us. Only real complaint was the late night noise from the neighbors that checked into the one bedroom next to us the last two nights. Overall, we really enjoyed the location and would not hesitate to stay in that area again on our next visit to OKW!

Glad you guys got what you wanted. As I had stated, we loved the location. We did experience the same issue but during the day with the people in the lock-off. Had to complain several times - they left 2 days before we did. We are doing the 1 bedroom at Saratoga next year, so can't wait for the added room!
