We stayed at OWK fr Sept 5-9 and we are not fans of OKW. We will never stay there again!
* The room was very musty smelling. Thank God for airfreshers!
*Not haveing a couch in our studio was a big minus
*You could hear the people in the room next door plain as day. Thank god we only had to put up with them for one day because they checked out!
Did discover two new cheap eating options. We stopped for gas at the Hess station that is located next to the car care center by the gates to the Magic Kingdom. I ran it to get a bottle of pop and noticed a very nice cafe area. They had hot dogs-2 for $2.00, french fries $1,79, pizza by the slice or a whole pizza for $8.00 for one topping or $13.00 for 5 toppings, grilled chicken sandwiches $2.49, subs, and ice cream.
So we opted for 4 hot dogs, two bottles of pop, package of combo's for a total of $7.35. The hot dogs were great. The buns were very thick and had a good taste. We priced the hot dogs at OWK they were $4.19 for one plus fries and no drink!
Or second cheap food find was a place calls Sweet Tomato's. It is located at the Crossroads shopping center just north of DTD. It is kind of hidden. You drive straight to the back of the center and it is located behind the TGI Fridays on the left
OMG it was great. For one price of $9.95 you get 55 feet of a salad bar with some interested vegetables to pick from such as: shreaded sweet potatoes, Jamican root, three types of lettuce. They have your standard salad dressings along with some interesting ones. You also get: pizza, plain baked potato and several different toppings for it, 6 types of soup, sundae bar, and dessert. I signed up on their web site prior to going and they sent me a buy one get one free coupon. So dinner that night cost us $15 for 2 people.
Of be on the look out for gators in the bathrooms at the Magic Kingdom. Yep the cleaning crew on Monday night stumpled upon a gator in one of the bathrooms! I guess they live in the wetland area that is behind MK.
They no longer allow riders in the front of the monarail. Since the crash they stopped allowing riders up front.
BLT we visited BLT and there is no concierge desk there, not place to eat. For both services you have to walk over to the Contemporary! The DVC guide said that by doing this they were able to keep the monthly dues at $43.
Oh get this from the time we turned in our rental car to the time we passed through security, it only took us 12 minutes! Yep 12 minutes after arriving we were sitting down and putting our shoes back on! Gota love the B concourse.
So all in all we had a good time but we will not be staying at OKW ever again.
