Good Morning, I will be leaving for my first stay at OKW this weekend. I am very excited!! I have never stayed...I will be taking my 7 year old son who will want to spend most of his time at the pool or near food. LOL. We have reserved a studio. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific building or section of the resort that I can request or see if there are openings available? Something close to the pools or food? I really appreciate any help or assistance. Cheers! princess:

There are 4 pools at OKW but the main pool is the one you want with a slide, so just ask them for a room as close as possible to the main pool area. the main pool is right near where you check in and so is all the food with one of the other pools having a snack bar but you want the main pool area. If you do not get a room near the main pool just hop on any bus and it stops at the main pool area. Have a great time. It is slow period down there at this time so you should have fun athe parks also. Don't forget to use fast pass. :cool1::cool1:

Hi: The category of villas near the main pool are "Hospitality house" area and are a guaranteed booking request. You can always see if they have anything available. Even if you are at the other end of the resort, it doesn't take too long to walk. A couple of years ago, we were in bldg. 53 (I think), and it only took 5-10 minutes to walk to the Hospitality House.

We've stayed in a wide range of areas at OKW, and each location has its pros and cons. We've stayed near Turtle Pond pool, but it was far from the bus stop. Near HH, but not as quiet. Near a bus stop, but bus noise sometimes. Building 15 had the best view, and was close to the HH, but far enough to be quiet. However, it was far from the Miller Road bus stop and far from a quiet pool. DH said it best, though, when I asked him once "What do you think the best room at OKW is?" and his answer-"a room that's at OKW."

Thank you so much for the responses! I just tried MS and they are closed so I will call them tomorrow to ask about the availability of the hospitality house bldgs. So even if I am at the farthest building, would it be safe to assume that we would be about a 10 minute walk from a food location? Just wondering, trying to plan with a 7 year old! Thanks again! :)

The best time to make requests with any DVC is when the reservation is made. Since near HH is a booking catagory like boardwalk view, savanna view etc., don't plan on getting that now. If they offer specific buildings (which they often don't do), I would say buildings 15, 16, 20,21 would fit your needs nicely as would 62,63,64, but those buildings in the 60's are usually for people with mobility issues because they are the elevator buildings. The building we like least is 29, but it would probably fit your needs with the exception that it can have a lot of bus noise if you have the studio on the road end.
