I'm an OKW lover, but in your situation, I would choose SSR. OKW does not have zero entry which would be nice for your 3-yr-old. Plus the little bar at OKW, although very friendly, has limited seating. And at SSR, there are now 2 "feature" type pools.

We have stayed at both, most recently at OKW. I loved both but prefer OKW. We stayed at SSR prior to the new pool, so you may prefer that one. The main pool at OKW is lovely, with the bar right there. I don't think you can go wrong wither way...

We have stayed at both, and love both resorts. Both have great pools with great slides. OKW has a sand play area next to the pool. But the Paoddock area at SSR has a great zero entry pool with slide and hot tub and a fenced in "water playground." Both have community halls, bars and snack areas near the pool. Both resorts have great "quiet pools" and zero enty pools (ssr has two). The quiet pool in the Grandstand area has water gun cannons that my kids loved. Both have the boat ride to DDT, both the same distance to all parks (they are next to each other). You will have a great time in either resort!

The gurgling suitcase is a fun little bar....

We have stayed at both. I enjoy SSR more but especially with younger children. As others have stated OKW has no zero entry pool or splash area. Plus i wasn't big on the sand at the playground at OKW.

pools, playground and pool bars, oh my!!.....planning on staying at them all eventually anyway. maybe a flip of the coin? paddock pool sounds great. As does the "fun" little bar at OKW. heads or tails?

I would choose OKW for other reasons (larger rooms, fewer points, etc.). Pool preferences would be secondary, but that's just me.
:cool1:

i could have sworn OKW had a zero entry near the bridge in the main pool. Oh well, whatever the entry, it did not phase my 6, 8, and 10 year old! However, to meet all your qualifications, I would try the SSR Paddock area....hot tub, zero entry completely contained pool with slide, splash area AND a bar and snack bar with tables and umbrellas in that nice contained area. The only draw back is the bar is not huge and has limited mixed drinks. Midway point for bus stop in resort as well, if that matters.

Honestly kids will love both of them. Pick what appeals to you. :thumbsup2
