OKW or AKV

I don't know what to do. I only have enough pts for either a 3 night stay at AKV savannah view or 4 nights at OKW. The value rooms are booked up, so I was thinking I could pay extra for 1 night stay at AKV but I wonder is it worth it. Is it worth paying for 1 night at AKV or should I just be happy with OKW?

I would book at the resort you like best or have not stayed at.

We own at AKV, but our first stay was a savannah view room, and it actually was on the back side not facing inward. All we got out our window were some impala. No variety of animals. So be careful when they say savannah view, it isn't always a good view!

OKW is a wonderful resort. I've stayed at both, love both. I'd choose to stay an extra night at OKW rather than paying cash for a night at AKL.

I agree, save the cash and stay at OKW. Disney will find other ways to wrestle the cash out of your hands while you are there. Don't just give it to them upfront, make them work for it

I'd do OKW over paying extra for AKV. We just had to decide between these 2 resorts ourselves. We own at AKV, stayed in a savannah view room in March 2010. Going back in June, staying 5 nights at BWV. Added on 4 nights and initially booked Kidani (has to be standard view this time). We will have 5 of us, so the only 1-bedroom options were AKV or BLT and now OKW since the refurb! So after some researching and thinking, we decided to give OKW a try! We have never stayed there and have heard (or actually READ here on the DIS boards!) great things about OKW!

Now, we do LOVE AKV, don't get me wrong... it's great and our kids absolutely loved it too. On our arrival day, they were perfectly happy with not going to a park but instead exploring the resort while DH and I went to the store for groceries. (Our oldest is almost 17.)

One thing I am concerned about, though, is only having one bathroom at OKW versus 2 (in a 1-bedroom) at Kidani.

If points were the same, I would say AKV IF you haven't stayed there, but since it's either one less night or paying out of pocket, I vote for OKW!

I would definitely do the 4 nights over 3. OKW looks like a really relaxing resort. Fun to try something new!

Would you have enough points to stay in a standard room at Jambo House? They all have pool views.

I love OKW. But if you only need a couple of points, you could also just buy them from Disney fo 15 per pt.

Book OKW and then plan an evening to vist AKL and do dinner there. Then, spend some time in the rocking chairs overlooking the savannahs...
