OKW members-can I go to your annual meeting?

I own at VWL and BCV, but not at OKW. However, I really want to go to the annual members meeting in December. When I was talking to my guide, he said that it would only be the members who might prevent me from attending. So, please, will you allow me to show up at the meeting? I mean, it would be sort of embarrassing if I show up and everyone leaps from their chairs and bodily throws me out. I won't ask harrassing questions or anything, I promise. So please?!

All members are welcome to attend the meeting, but much of the information is specific to the resort. There will not be any info about what is taking place at VWL or BCV at the OKW meeting.

The VWL and BCV meetings will also be held around the same time. I don't know the meeting schedule yet, but you may find that you can make VWL and/or BCV (in addition to the OKW meeting).

Simba's Mom, you may attend under one strict condition....you post a full and complete report here ASAP after the meeting! Seems like we spend days asking each other for the info here on the boards. Doc usually covers us for OKW but the more the merrier!

Simba's Mom, no problem! I cannot imagine any DVC CM turning away a member regardless of which resort's annual meeting is being held. I have been to several OKW annual meetings & have never had another member ask which resort/resorts I own. Go & have a good time! Any chance your guide gave you a hint when the OKW meeting will be ?

Actually I don't think I'll be at WDW at the time of the VWL or BCV meetings. Also, we only own at VWL because that's what was being sold-DH would never consider any other resort other than OKW (even BCV is only for my solo trips, not family trips). JudithM, I just found the times and dates of the meetings on the member's website today.

Most timeshare annual meetings are closed or semi closed events. I can't imagine though that an owner, even one from another resort, would not be allowed to attend. The members aren't really voting anywya, unfortunately.

Simba's Mom...you're probably okay to get in the OKW meeting, even though you're within the 7 month window.....but you might have to waitlist for the BWV meeting!

Thanks so much for posting the dates! I'm going a little later in December than I usually do and so I thought I would miss the BWV meeting. Now I probably can go! Last year's meeting wasn't very crowded at all and I enjoyed hearing the answers to all the questions. It will be kind of fun to see if the answers to any of them change - I'm sure many of the same questions/issues will come up again.

Granny, What do you mean by "probably OK for the OKW meeting but waitlist for the BWV meeting"? I thought the meetings were open to whoever showed up, not limited. Since I've never been to one of the meetings before, perhaps I'm wrong-I don't really know how these things work. I've already got my ressies to stay at WDW that week, my only concern is with going over to the meeting.

He's just kidding - probably just making fun of all the posts that tell people they won't have any trouble getting reservations for OKW, but will probably have to waitlist to get into BWV!

I personally don't think you will have a problem going to any of the annual meetings. Last year's BWV meeting had lots of empty chairs. Even though you are supposed to "RSVP" if you plan to attend, I bet you could just go up to the "registration table" and tell them you are from XXX resort, but would like to attend this annual meeting because you missed the other. I'd be shocked if they said no!

The business meetings for all the resorts are almost exactly the same - they follow the same format. As Doc posted, there will be some resort-specific information and of course the Q&A session afterwards is usually resort specific. But there are some questions (like discounts on APs) that apply to all members.

As far as I am concerned, it's OK with this DVC BWV member if you want to attend the BWV meeting!
