hi, we are staying at okw in a 2bed next year..
my middle son is mentally disabled (he is physically very fit!) and would like to a request a room building near to a pool (the deep pressure helps with his meltdowns) so we dont have to walk along way to destress him...
i am also disabled, i have fibromyalgia, and whilst i do not need a disabled room, i would need one on the ground floor if poss for my ecv, or a building with a lift.

we stayed at ssr a few years ago and was able to request a room with only 1 front door (ie it didnt split into a studio and 1 bed) is this poss at okw, just means i know he ll be safe as he ll be the other side ofthe appt to me!

the only other request would be a quiet room... as noise outside (especially outside at night) causes him major distress!!

he is also a very severe asthmatic, again at ssr and pors we had a deep clean prior to arrival, is this an option at okw?

is there anything im missing or should ask for aswell (i know, im the worlds worst guest!!:rotfl2:)

i know there are no guarantees with room asks, but have always found disney very accomodating in our circumstances ie its not just as we cant be bothered!!
thanks again for any advice or guidance, we are so looking forward to hearing welcome home again!!!

I am guessing you might want to be near one of the quiet pools instead of the main pool- they will be less crowded for your son- I have been in some very nice first floor studios at South Point that are right near the quiet pool. If you want to stay near the main pool your best bet would be if you had a hospitality house room reserved (a specific booking category).

Millers Rd pool is very close to bldgs. Ask for a 1st floor. OKW seems to be a very quiet resort. We have never had much issue with noise.

Did you book a dedicated 2 bedroom villa? If you want a villa with only one front door, you need to make sure that your reservation is for a dedicated instead of a lock-off 2 bedroom.

We stayed in building 46 last year, and loved the location. It looked out onto the canal. The views were beautiful, and the noise from the buses was minimal. It was a short walk to a quiet pool.

no we didnt book a dedicated room, but i ll call them and add the info and requests to our booking, dh wants me to request a HA room, incase i detoriate more before the trip... is it easier to ask for one now- then cancel it, or request it later in the year... i dont want to ask for it, not need it, and stop someone who REALLY needs it being able to book it iyswim..

I would recommend you call and reguest a first floor villa for medical reasons. Youcan alsorequest near a pool, but make the first floor villa your main request. If they know you have an ECV, they will be sure to accommadate that.
