We are thinking about booking a 1 Bdrm at OKW from July 3rd through July 10th 2008. First of all, will there be a problem now at 7 months out? Also are we crazy going in July???? We are going to the NASCAR race at Daytona and thought we would also make another trip to WDW since we have APs and will be flying down anyway. Anyone know what it is like there in July? Thanks so much:goodvibes :santa:

We just booked June 30th - July 11th 2008 at the 7 month mark

It's a STudio and except for a few days ( BWv Bw/ST) we had out choice of resorts.

We decided to do a split at BWV and AKV savan View

We go during the late June - early July timeframe. We have learned to take it easy and relax during our stay. We go to the parks in the morning, go back to the resort for a break during the afternoon (pool time!), then go back to a park during the evening.

We see the 4th of July show at the MK on the 3rd as they do the show on both the 3rd and the 4th. Then we went to Epcot to see the firewaorks on the forth. All I can say is GET THERE EARLY and park it...

Downtown Disney had a small show that we enjoyed from our deck at SSR.

We have learned that you just can't do everything during that busy time.

We were at OKW July 3-10 a few years ago. I agree that you have to take it easy as it's pretty hot and humid, but surprisingly we found the crowds to be manageable. We did a lot of early mornings in the parks, The Gurgling Suitcase/main pool in the afternoons, and back to the parks at night. We met a lot of NASCAR fans that week who were going to Daytona, too.

We are booked at AKV from 7/4-7/13. We just got home last night from VWL. We spoke to a manager there regarding the crowds July 4th. He frankly said stay away!!! With the 4th being a Friday he felt it would be a crazy weekend since people would have a long weekend. We have been there in the summer before and the heat really did not bother us. We are rethinking our plans, however, prob will still go and just do the hotel pool for the weekend.
Have a great time planning.

The last few times we went was for 2 weeks (last week of June/first week of July). July seems hotter to me than June, but June is still hot. Both times we have done split stays with one resort and then ending it at OKW. At OKW they have a DJ and fun pool games, decorations etc. at the main pool on 4th of July. You will hear the fireworks from Epcot that night depending where you are in OKW.

Relax, try not to do everything, Hydrate, plan you park days ahead...because there are lines and to me long lines, and hot humid weather = cranky people..so try to use FASTPASS often. Swim breaks in the middle of your day really do cool you down. It's not so bad though.

Thank you all for your info:thumbsup2 We are going to give it a shot and I am really looking forward to trying OKW. Happy Holidays:santa:
