I am an OKW and BCV owner. Because of owning two resorts I didn't get the hospitality house category secured for New Years Eve. I have this one day waitlisted with the other 3 days around it as just a 1 BR. I hate to risk moving for one day since we are doing another resort at the beginning of the stay. Thinking about just moving all my days to a 1 BR without the hospitality house category so I dont have to worry about it. How many of you feel strongly about staying at the hospitality house area? Or don't ? Thank you.

i prefer to stay away from the HH area. less traffic/more quiet.

but i don't have small children to herd to the main pool/play area either.

Thanks. I don't have small children so that isnt a concern. Seems like there are lots of good buildings that aren't in the category. Anyone else?

I do not own at OKW, and have never had a HH villa. It is more important to me to have 1st floor or elevator building. I've been happy! We have always had a car for OKW stays, and that's a factor, I am sure.

I always prefer HH area and have good luck getting it. Shorter walk to everything. Plus our adult daughter has Down syndrome and she always brings her best friend. Much easier for them to go to pool and other activities on their own. I like that you are closer to boat too. We rarely use the busses since we don't go to parks more than once a stay. I hAve taken a taxi from OKW to go to California Grill and back. So it is easy to do from HH.

Thanks. These two things are most important for me as well. We will not have a car and it does make a difference. I may just waitlist the HH house but go ahead and change my booking so that everything else is all together. The only time I stayed in a grandvilla I booked right at 11 months and had to waitlist NYE. It never came through. I hate having to move for 1 day in the middle. I just don't want to take that chance. My 16 year old is sentimental that we need to stay at OKW part of the time since it has been awhile. :goodvibes:)

I can see how it is a lot easier for you. Thanks for the feedback. I am looking forward to those non park trips in the future! Very relaxing.

I usually try to stay in the HH area. Shorter walk to everything. Like the main pool area.

If my mom is traveling with us (she is 84), the HH area is much easier for her. I like the convenience too. Without a car, it is especially nice. But we also enjoy the lovely water views that some of the other units have.

I prefer HH area. 2 young children. Close to food, bus stop, and main pool.
also, because of all of the bus stops, I like getting on at the HH because it goes directly to park instead of all around the resort. Upon returning, if it doesn't stop at HH first, we get off at the first stop and just walk across the bridge so we aren't on the bus for an extra 10 minutes or so. (we never have a car)

We have a reservation booked at OKW in 8 days and the HH wasn't available when we booked. I did call and request it though and was told that they have other houses that are close to HH without being in that category so maybe that would be an option? Anyone else have any luck getting close without booking HH?

We stay across the bridge, just close enough but out of the traffic. How often do you expect to use the HH amenities? Anywhere at the resort is just a bus ride to HH if you don't feel like walking.

:earsboy: Bill

I really prefer building 30 to 35 in the Old Turtle Pond area. But I'm giving near HH another try on my upcoming solo trip since I won't have a car. I do seem to have stuff sent to the resort from the parks almost every day, so that is a factor, too.

I like the 1BR's with the additional entrance to the bathroom thru the laundry and those buildings are all outside the HH category.

We stayed in the Old Turtle Pond area and loved it. We wanted a 1bdrm with an entrance to the bathroom through the living room, so we needed bldg 30 or higher. We had a car but also found that it was an easy walk to the HH area. We were there during a non-humid week in Oct, so I might feel differently during the summer months (but I'd think you'd be find over NYE).

We will OKW for the first time this August prior to our cruise and for 1 night after. HH was not available in a 1 bedroom before the cruise, but from the advice I got on these boards I am going to request building higher than 30 and preferably Turtle Pond.

The night after cruise I was able to book a HH studio. It will be interesting to see the difference in locations.

We are really looking forward to our stay at OKW!:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. I changed it to a one bedroom without the hospitality house. So we have 3 nights at BWV and then 4 nights at OKW. Think we will like being close to boardwalk and Hollywood studios for a couple of days since it is a busy week. . Put a wait list in for GFV for the heck of it for the BWV portion. They had two of the three days but the missing day was in the middle so I just waitlisted it all. I have been able to piece days together at other times of the year but too risky during the holidays. It will be a surprise if it comes through if not happy to have the plane tickets booked and the resorts decided. Will stay at Grand Floridian some day.

We are OKW owners and the majority of our stays have been there. We've done both the regular and HH category and honestly much prefer to be in the regular category with a request to be in Turtle Pond. We've experienced way too much noise going with HH.
