Are all GV's at OKW on the second and third floor or are some of them ground level/second floor?

Or do you have to reserve an accessible one in order to have a ground level that wouldn't require stairs? Or are some in the buildings with elevators?

i belive all the grand villas at okw start on the first floor and are 2 story units
you will have a master bedroom kitchen living room on the first floor and 2 bedrooms on the second floor
i do know there are handicap units the one time we stayed in the handicap grand villa it had a shower on the first floor that you could get in while in a wheel chair

There is only one GV (in building 48) with ground floor access. It is HCA.

There are also 2 GVs in Building 63 with elevator access to the main level of the GV - located on the 2nd floor of the villa.

If you need a GV with such access you will likely need to request an accessible GV (and MS will manage that thru Special Services) or it will just be a request and not guaranteed.

I think there are only 2 accessible GVs, plus another in Building 63 with elevator access. None have access to the upper floor of the GV.

All OKW GVs are two floors with the master BR, kitchen and living room on the first floor and two BRs on the upper floor.

BWV has a GV all on one floor and elevator access to the others and SSR has elevator access to all GVs - including elevator access to the upper floor of all GVs whether HCA or not.

At OKW there are 27 GVs and 24 of them have the main floor entrance on the 2nd story of the building.

Here is a map of OKW coded by GDUL to show buildings with GVs and buildings with HCA villas.

Great - thanks for the info!

For the group I was thinking about I guess we'd be best to look at one of the other resorts like AKV or SSR (or BLT! Yikes!). HA really wouldn't be required although maybe it would be easier to get than I think. But we would need access without steps.

Do you mean you need access to the second floor of the unit without stairs? There are 2 GVs at OKW in elelvator buildings, but those would only get you to the main GV level and the master bedroom. I believe SSR has a seperate elevator to the second floor within the unit.

For our family reunion in 2007 my dad could not handle stairs. We had the GV in building 48 and also a HC studio in building 48 ..both units were on the ground floor and near each other. Dad stayed in the studio and also had easy access to the GV for family gatherings, etc. The bus stop is right across the street from this unit making getting to and from the parks very easy for my dad. There are wheel chairs at the park bus stops that you can borrow. We used the wheel chairs to get my dad into the parks ..from there we rented an ECV for the day and he was good to go.

Good luck with your planning!

No, access to the second level wouldn't be required - only the first. My mother couldn't do stairs but also HA units really are not good a good set-up for her so I think OKW would be out. I'd love it though for the size of the unit - and the points too.

Thanks Peggy Sue! Sounds like you found a way to make it work. I think if we did OKW we'd just have to do something similar with multiple units but skip the GV.
