OKW Balcony question with small children

I am staying at OKW in a 2 bdrm. for the first time in June. I have a three year old son and a four year old daughter. My son is especially curious and loves to climb and even though we watch him like a hawk, I still worry about the balcony.

Anyone else with small children have similar concerns? And were you comfortable once you got there?

Any reassurances are appreciated. I've asked for ground floor for this reason, but no guarantees.

TIA,
Donna

I can't speak from experience with small children but the railings are fairly high and I don't think a child could fit between the rails. Of course, climbing could be a problem. The doors to the balconies can be locked to help keep an eye on the situation. If you are extremely worried, you could ask for a groundfloor unit.

Our kids were 7 , 3 and 1 when we bought OKW. They're now 18, 14 and 12. We've always stayed in a two bedroom unit and have never had a problem with the balconies. It is Disney, after all. I'd make a judgment call after you're there. I think you'll be fine. If you still fell uncomfortable, you can always keep the door to the balcony locked until you can supervise them

I agree with the others. The railings are very tall, and would be difficult for getting a foothold, but a determined child could always push one of the chairs over to the rail. If you have a very adventurous child, I reccommend you keep a close eye on him no matter WHICH resort you are at!
