Are there both dedicated and lock-off two bedrooms at OKW? I know the dedicated would not have the 2nd outside entrance. What are the other differences? Any pros or cons to either? We will be sharing a two bedroom with another family and I want to give them the option of requesting what they want. I just need some information so they can make a decision. Thanks.

The lock-off has the second door (as you noted) plus it has everything you find in a studio (since it is one)....coffeemaker, frig, toaster, microwave and wet bar. It also has its own small patio or balcony. The dedicated version is a true second bedroom. I believe there's a vanity where the wet bar/kitchenette would be located and there is no balcony. There are some other minor layout differences but those are the "biggies".

For a second family, the lock-off would probably be the way to go. They can come and go as they please and they can make coffee in the morning or other snacks without having to head out into the shared kitchen.

In a dedicated 2 BR, there is a closet where the second door would be. I agree the lockoff would be better giving a little more privacy. If you've already made your reservation though, you may not have the choice any longer.

I think I'll just request the lock-off and not worry about explaining it all to them. I start making the reservations this week - 7 months our for New Year's week. I am making ressies for 3 rooms - a 2 br and 2 studios. The lock-off/dedicated portion of the requests is actually going to be pretty far down the list. Non-smoking and rooms close to each other are more important.

Just out of curiousity though - do you know how many of each - dedicated and lockoff- there are? Just wondering what my odds are. Thanks.

Certifiable WDW Nut: I don't know how many there are of each but I did want to let you know to ask for a lock off if you want it when you make your ressie. We wanted a dedicated for Thanksgiving which they had for all but one night. We reserved a dedicated for all but the one night and had a seperate ressie for the lock off that night and were put on the wait list for a dedicated which has already come through. The lock offs say lock off on your ressie. The dedicated units say two bedroom. Just wanted to let you know that you really reserve one type of unit or the other and that it is not really a request if that makes sense. Good luck with your ressies.:)
