DH and I have been DVC members for several years now but have not stayed in a Villa before. We are headed down in November for 6 days after Thanksgiving. I know that the kitchens have basic dishes and such... what do you usually bring with you to a villa that you don't bring if you are in a hotel room?

DH :darth:, Dsis: :tinker:, Dsis fiance: :figment: and DNephew (from a different sister) 18 mo. :tigger: and ME! :mickeybar

Thanks!

detergent and fabric softenor,- alumin fold, plastic wrap, ziplock bags - all for leftovers (so bring some to the restuarants with you)

Salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, food, etc. No need to bring paper products or dishwasher detergent though.

most of the above (no coffee -YUCK) but we do bring cocoa packets, marshmallows, tea, oatmeal packets, and granola bars.
Budget years we bring lots of (or buy) groceries.
I've heard some people who drive bring crockpots, griddles, mickey waffle makers, and blenders for adult beverages as well as kids' (although I think you can ask for one from housekeeping?

Thanks! So they do provide dishsoap? What about other cleaners? Like to clean the kitchen counter after use etc? I like the blender idea!

I bring a dishcloth or disposable handi wipe cloths to wipe the table and counters. They only provide a very small sponge (maybe 3" square) which doesn't do that great a job on larger surfaces. No cleaners are provided. You could bring clorox wipes for wiping surfaces.

You get a small bottle of dish detergent (Palmolive) and a few pouches of dishwasher detergent.

We brought a Panini maker last time.

And bring laundry detergent and fabric softener or softener sheets.

No need to bring a blender to OKW, since there is already one in the cupboard above the sink in OKW units. Yes, there will be a small bottle of Palmolive dish soap as well as dishwasher detergent. One single use box of laundry detergent as well, but we keep our own supply in our owner's locker.

Don't forget coffee filters if you bring coffee. Mr. Coffee standard 10-12 cup type filters!

We bring extra dishwashing liquid and detergent as well. There is a wine bottle opener in the room but I bring along a wine bottle stopper.

We also bring a couple of magnets and post the parks schedule and pool activity schedule on the fridge!

We always make a grocery run, as I love using our villa's kitchen - saves so much money from eating out, and we enjoy our leisurely breakfasts on the patio, as well as meeting up for early dinner before heading back out to the parks for the evenings.
My favourite thing to do because there is so many of us that go in a hundred different directions, is to bring a magnetic note pad for the fridge so we can communicate to each other during the day.
If you're not grocery shopping, definitely bring the laundry soap and dryer sheets - try the Purex 3-in-1 sheets, easy to pack, or I buy the travel size laundry detergent packs at Walmart. Also, if you're not getting groceries and eating a lot in the villa, you won't need to pack any dishwashing detergents, they leave you a small bottle and will give you extras on trash/towel day if it's empty.

I bring a crockpot in my carryon. I put bathingsuits and clothes for one daysurrounding it and inside, incase our luggage gets lost at the airport. This has happened to us. Some people bring one of those dishwasher soap tables to put in that big tub to sanitize it.Bring your own coffee if you are a coffee drinker as Disney does Nescafe. Yuk! Also I put some of my favorite spices in a ziploc, then I put it in 2 more so that you can not smell it inside my suitcase. I second the wine opener. Somehow the one in the villa always seems to be missing. I also bring a good pot scrubbing sponge. The ones they supply don't do much.

Great thanks! where can you find the 3 in 1 sheets? I have never found any

I found them at the Walmart near me in Cheektowaga, NY, and have seen them at other Walmarts as well. If not, the travel size detergents are easy to pack, just make sure they're in a Zip Lock bag.:goodvibes
